Anyone here live in St. George?

So, I'm taking the job. Will start Oct 5. I'm excited. We found a house to rent, I'll be able to bike to work, have a pool, great hours...my poor wife might actually get comfortable in one spot. It's time. St. George seems like a great area. Close to a major city if needed, all the local amenities our family will need, close to all our favorite spots (all within a semi-short drive -- Mexico, So Cal, Davis County, etc) but yet far enough away that we can dictate our own schedule.

I apologize in advance for my kids coming into the area, they are...energetic. Ha ha.

I bet we'll love the weather this year. Then ask me again next August. Ha ha. But you guys tell me it never gets too hot to swim in a pool. ;) I'm trusting you guys.

I was referring to a pic of Chris-L and I and someone commenting on my calves... to which you commented how yours were so much bigger.

Unreal after all this time you finally come out with this ego stuff.. but whatever. You take care of yourself, b.

I'm a St. George native, looking to buy a place there sometime soon. . . . nothing like Peeks place though. I'm a farmer. Just wish my dad had bought grandpa's 200 acres in the fields back when. . . . I think the asking price was like $2000.

Seems like there were about six JFers there over a year ago, before trout moved in. Don't know if anyone but Peeks is still there. . . . lol.

The El Nino this year is supposed to be the strongest in sixty years. . . . that means the weeds will grow all over the hills, and you'll get more rain, about twice the average. . . probably no snow though. Global warming, ya know. ha ha That two degrees F is about the margin St. George gets to stay snow free in any storm. Most snowfalls are 30F precipitation events, if not 36F just melting as it hits.

Ya know.. it does take a certain amount of ego to sit at the table and negotiate favorable deals with other big ego dudes.

But I spend my days driving a truck that most think I should junk.
I help dozens of people EAT.
As a pastime I go out, way out, near the Grand Canyon, and camp. Hunt arrowheads, teach my kids how to really get dirty. I don't book 5 star hotels, like, ever.
But whatever with this ego stuff. I guess I'm supposed to be middle class-thinking-acting so I'm accepted?
Yeah. I'm proud of who I am. Ego or not.

I hear there is a seedy underbelly in St. George that no one talks about. Any truth to this?

The plan is to arrive October 1.
