Losing fanduel will be sad, literally have turned it into a seasonal part-time job....one guy is going to end up ruining it for everybody
 
I'm only up a few dollars for the night. I just put $5 on Wolves come back at +1000.

Sounds like pump and dump 101 with IPO money as the endgame. They were hoping to get some overvaluation based on hype that would have easily made up for bleeding money in the present.

One of them, I believe FanDuel, was looking to go public next year.

And the reason they probably didn't care if they even got to IPO or not, is just floating the idea of an IPO sucks in all these sports orgs and sports channels to invest so the founders can take some skin out of the game pre-IPO.....in case it never even gets there.

I don't know, I'm sure all parties involved were aware the hammer was coming eventually so maybe they had some stipulations on their investments. And maybe it's not a hammer. Maybe they find some way around it....some way to change laws. Shoot, if some of these sites have the stats that say....they give the NFL a 10%, 20%, whatever percent audience boost. The NFL could probably justify setting up some kind of big $$$$ prize system that might be able to keep the userbase interested even if no gambling is involved.

So i have been horrible at this. Started with $100 and was doing $20 for my first few bets and lost them all. So then i thought i better start doing smaller bets and started doing $5 dollar bets. Still getting my *** kicked.

Then yesterday i bet everything that was left in my account and got really lucky in a really wierd way.
I put 5 on the jazz to win (lost that) and then for the nfl game last night (jets vs bills) I bet 5 dollars that neither team would score 3 times unanswered (lost that one. the bills did), bet 5 dollars that mccoy would rush for over 55 yards (win), 5 dollars that mccoy would get more than 3 catches (win), 5 dollars that fitzpatrick would thow a pick (win), and 5 dollars that neither team would score from inside the 2 yardline (win).

Here is the kicker though and why i was wierdly lucky. I somehow accidentally did all of those football bets twice. So instead of making 5 bets on that game and winning 4 of the 5, i accidentally make 10 bets on that game and won 8 of 10.

I made similar bets on the monday night game too and did pretty well (rivers would throw for less than 309 yards, no team would score 3 times unanswered, etc)

Nba basketball has been killing me. And both times i bet on the jazz they beat the spread but i picked them to win outright.
Now im pondering whether to bet on them again tonight.

Usually your going to want to vary your bets by half or double whatever unit your comfortable with risking(as sort of a simplified general rule on 'bankroll control'), it's quite the uphill battle once you cut your bets in a quarter, so your mistake was actually much closer to what you should've done. Good Job!! if you want to research the long-version on why check out the 'Kelly Criterion'..

I'd also say stick with betting the spreads, when you jump around all type of different bets, it's really hard to gauge that accuracy over the long run. I'm not sure what your aim is though with the bets. I bet to win over time, strictly. I believe the saying is; Find your niches, find your riches. So if you wanna bet those prop type bets and they're working, stick with them and let it ride..

Houston -4 too
Stanford -9 but not as much as the first two.
