George Hill coming to Utah

sigh. nice leap there. real nice.
I don't get it. You did say the jazz were screwed if Exum doesn't work out. In what way are they screwed? As I pointed out there are several options. Not sure what you think my "leap" was, not why you sighed.

I said the PG position would be screwed in two years if Exum doesn't pan out.

You said I said the Jazz would be screwed.

The PG position will be screwed if Exum doesn't pan out regardless of who else they brought in.

I'm fine with Hill. Personally would have preferred Teague, but I get why they valued Hill more. IF he extends his contract, this is a win for the Jazz. I think he's got at least 3 more good years in him and I think he's a great fit for the defensive identity that the Jazz are developing. Wish they'd have pulled this trade off at the deadline, and gotten a taste of the playoffs.

Wonder what happens to Mack now? 3rd PG again, or does he and Burke both get traded?

Remember big al? We all went ape **** (myself included) thinking about big al with d-will. We were posting big al highlight vids and stats and convincing ourselves how great he is.

I didn't. I took a lot of **** for it. I was right.

8/10 June 27, 2013: Traded a 2015 2nd round draft pick (can't find who) to the Atlanta Hawks for Raul Neto.

10/10 July 10, 2013: As part of a 3-team trade, the Utah Jazz traded Kevin Murphy to the Golden State Warriors; the Utah Jazz traded Randy Foye to the Denver Nuggets; the Denver Nuggets traded cash and a 2018 2nd round draft pick to the Utah Jazz; and the Golden State Warriors traded Andris Biedrins, Richard Jefferson, Brandon Rush, a 2014 1st round draft pick (Rodney Hood), a 2016 2nd round draft pick, a 2017 1st round draft pick and a 2017 2nd round draft pick to the Utah Jazz.

3/10 (Could go up depending on next year's Thunder pick) February 19, 2015: As part of a 3-team trade, the Utah Jazz traded Enes Kanter and Steve Novak to the Oklahoma City Thunder; the Detroit Pistons traded a 2017 2nd round draft pick to the Utah Jazz; and the Oklahoma City Thunder traded Grant Jerrett, Kendrick Perkins, Tibor Pleiss and a 2017 1st round draft pick to the Utah Jazz. (UTA 1st round pick received from OKC is protected.)

Null June 25, 2015: Traded Daniel Diez to the Portland Trail Blazers for cash considerations.

9/10 February 18, 2016: As part of a 3-team trade, the Utah Jazz traded a 2018 2nd round draft pick to the Chicago Bulls; the Atlanta Hawks traded Shelvin Mack to the Utah Jazz;

7/10 June 22, 2016: As part of a 3-team trade, the Utah Jazz traded a 2016 first round draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks; the Indiana Pacers traded George Hill to the Utah Jazz.

Overall, on my odd grading metric, I give him an average of a (2,10,8,10,3,9,7)/7, 7/10 overall grade, so no, DL is not bad at making deals

A 9 for Mack and an 8 for Neto? Are you kidding? And the first trade was a 0. Burke is a bust, Giannis is a star and Adams is very good. And you can't just "null" out trades. Selling a pick or trading out for an even lower future pick represents a missed opportunity. Jazz should be drafting and stashing Euros if they have no roster room, not just throwing a couple million dollars extra into the Millers' pockets.

Giving up a 2nd round pick for Shelvin Mack was a great trade. Just because a trade doesn't bring in Kevin Durant doesn't mean it's a failure.

Nice!

If Teague is way better than Hill then he would cost way more than the #12 pick. Can't have everything.

I like this trade. I'll like it even when some dude or dudes that are picked in the 12-25 range become all-stars and people bring it up. Jazz rotation was short on "legit NBA players" last year. People were sick of having guys get way more minutes than they should for an NBA team. This trade gets them another proven player. Added defense and shooting from the sounds of it. Good.

I also think his draft is especially awful

Hill is from Indiana, he loved playing for the hometown Pacers...I'm curious to know if he's happy about this trade?

All the rumors and word from his agent said he is excited and wants to be here. Rumors have also suggested he has been unhappy in Indiana for the last 2 seasons or more and felt unappreciated. But I guess no one knows for sure. We as fans probably wont know for sure until next off season when he is a FA.

Just spoke to G Hill's agent: Although on one year deal, the hope is Hill will be in Utah long term

Tony Jones ‏@Tjonessltrib 11h11 hours ago

Hill's agent said they would've looked at Utah next season in free agency regardless. He loves Snyder, has close relationship with Hayward

Tony Jones ‏@Tjonessltrib 11h11 hours ago

Agent said Hill wants to go "where he is loved"....didn't always feel appreciated in Indiana with the Pacers

Seems like he's he's pretty happy with it.
