What's new

Al Jefferson has been a beast lately.

So you are unhappy with a PF averaging 10 boards per game?

Malone averaged 10.1 a game for his career. For 8 of his last 9 seasons averaged under 10 with about 5 of them under 9. And he is considered a top-notch rebounder.

Right now AJ is 18th in the league in rebounding for the season. If the past 10 games were an indication he would jump to the top 10. I am happy with his rebounding personally. I think you have a point about technique and if he learned that he could get a couple more per game perhaps, but I am certainly not hung up on whether he averages 10 or 11 or 12 per game. Once you hit double digits in a category like rebounding you are considered near-elite at it.

Agreed. He' aware of his short comings and what he needs to improve. He made an effort to reiterate that he knows he still has things to improve on and owned it.

He's been working hard this season and its starting to show, big time.

+ 1

I love the way Al has stepped up since the trade. Couldn't have asked for any more than what he's produced.

It's really strange watching the Jazz now. The dynamic has totally shifted. Al is emerging as a real force and Harris will get even better I think.

Anyway, it was nice to have a win.

I think Harris is a good guard, not a great guard. That said, I hope he can start playing like he did when he was on the Mavs. That would be great.

Ouch.

Im completely surprised that Sloanfeld did not come back in here defending his boy...friend.
Sloanfeld = Meg Griffin (from Family guy) so he was too busy trying apply grease to give him more acne and trying to pop ones he's already got, which is quite difficult given his homemade broken knuckle and cast removal he put himself though so him and Booz could have something in common.

Incidentally he also has been arrested for soliciting a prostitute that looks like Michelle Money, so that explains his extended absence early in the year as well.

twolves fans must be amused that the jazz are trying to build around jefferson. their team had so much success doing the same.

Who are they trying to build around? Al just so happens to be the latest guy the Jazz didn't trade away or not sign during the offseason. It's obvious how bad this team is hemorrhaging money. I think all they're trying to do is stay afloat until the new CBA.

And it's funny how you complain about a guy that's been absolutely unconscious lately, while also playing reasonably good defense on the other end. No matter what happens, there's always some moran Jazz fan throwing **** out there that's way off base. This team looks like **** right now, we have no 2 guard to speak of, no bench, and injuries up the ***. And you come in here complaining about the guy that's been the best player on the floor for several weeks now. Makes a lot of sense... direct your complaints at the ONLY bright spot during the last month or so.

He actually wasn't complaining about Jefferson, he was complaining about the Jazz management.

SLOANED.

Still no love from the refs though.

Averaging 29ppg in March on only 6 free throws?

That is Jefferson's fault no the refs. Jefferson shoots quickly and never gets in position for draw fouls.

If Jefferson could average around 6-8 free throws a game he would would be so much better. He is so good at getting his opponent up in the air or falling for his fakes but he fades away mostly.

If he consistently got to the line he wouldn't hurt his team that much when his shot isn't falling. Something CJ Miles also needs to learn.

Jefferson is by far our best player right now. I just hope we sign a big man coach who teaches these guys to get to the free throw line. Stop being finesse players in the paint.

I was actually shocked when Jefferson had the ball in the low post during the first quarter and kicked it out to Harris for the three ball. Dude never passes when gets the ball there.

I think Jefferson is going to keep getting better and better. He wants to win and I am excited for the future. I just wish we could get a real center next to him so our defense wasn't so bad. And I real SG who can penetrate and hit the 3.

He's starting to get a tiny bit better at it, but nowhere even approaching average. Wish he could learn that, but I just don't believe it is in the cards this stage in his career. Hope I'm wrong.

Well when your mentor and Big man coach for the greater part of your carrier was the ultimate black hole when he got the ball in the post (Mckale). The Passing the ball out was never part of what he learned. Its going to take sometime time to get him to do this well. Its just not part of what he has been taught ever until now. From Middle school all the way until this year he was told that if he got the ball in the post he better score.
