Its cool he was invited but I'm glad he isnt going. He always seems a bit gassed at the end of the year, so we need him in tip top shape.

I agree, Hayward played the second most minutes this season and ran the second most miles this season. I am pretty sure he has been at the top of that list for 3 years in a row.
If it is a dream of his then why would he decline?

These things make me think I could be wrong about Hayward and how good he could really be.this. the burden on him, offensively and defensively, has been enormous. the focus of every defensive scheme, and often guards the other teams best player. I can't wait until he gets some adequate help

David Locke seems to think having a facilitating point guard like Hill will help Hayward. He said for the last 3 years Hayward has been responsible for doing so much, now that Hill is hear to take some of that burden, Hayward will improve.
I guess we'll see if Locke is right.
Does that mean that the other guys who declined before Hayward get the recognition of being an Olympian too?...
Really? If everyone keeps saying no and they eventually ask me I'm saying yes. I don't really understand why someone wouldn't go because of Zika. Are these people unaware of birth control? Don't they have any idea how cool the Olympics is?
His wife is pregnant and I think she is due around the same time of the Olympics. Sometimes people sacrifice their dreams for their family. Call it a crazy life choice, but most people don't seem to regret it.
The math tells me that you can reduce the risk of passing Zika to a fetus to almost nothing if you are careful. Tiny risks can seem ginormous when the media puts their spotlight on them, though, and I completely understand someone deciding that they are not comfortable with any risk of Zika, no matter how small. It's still sad that they are giving up their dreams for it.You do realize that no method of birth control is 100% effective?
Small, but real, risk but HUGE downside. You do the math.
You might not have the opportunity to tell him that because your mother might have killed him. While men often missed childbirth just a generation ago, it's become a major no-no today. This is probably a more reasonable reason to miss the Olympics than Zika because it could lead to doghouse time that would be no bueno. If my father told me he sacrificed an Olympic gold medal to be at an event that I don't remember, I'd be pissed at him. Just for the fact that I wouldn't be able to inherit an Olympic gold medal.
