DO NOT see Star Trek Beyond. Holy ****ing **** what a waste. I had low expectations (was taking my GF, who has a soft spot for trek) and it managed to slide in WELLLLLL below.

I think Colton might find "Predestination" quite intriguing as well... a movie for intellectual for sure.

The poster didn't look promising, but starring Ethan Hawke (one of my favourite actors of all time), and with a 84% rotten tomatoes rating, so I decided to give it ago.


Boy, was it a real gem of a movie. A pleasant surprise. Conceptually I think this movie is right up there with Nolan's "Inception", the production is polished, and the acting to me is top shelf. It's a pity I guess that it's an Australian production and therefore didn't receive a worldwide distribution and therefore isn't very well known.


If you're a fan of science fiction, and you haven't seen this, you are missing out.

Thanks for the recommendations, guys. However, with only very rare exceptions, I generally don't watch rated R movies unless they are eg. edited for TV.

Finally got a chance to watch Citizen Kane tonight...



... it was definitely a hard slog. Can see why they have intermissions in the middle of movies in those days. Was intrigued to find that the movie had a Buddhism theme, kinda strange for an old American film.
