I could make a really long post. But do you realize that AK is 8th in PER for all small forwards in the league? Or that he's 3rd in assists, 6th in steals, or 2nd in blocks? Is there really no on who actually knows AK's stats year in and year out? The injury history is a concern. His performance history outside of one bad year in 10 isn't.
 
Is there ever a good price for some coke that's been cut with a small amount of chlorine? Can you get a good deal on a prostitute with HSV? I feel like these are the arguments we keep having, with the consensus being, "yeah, but everybody quickly dismisses how hot this girl is when she's done up."

The thing we need to divorce ourselves from with Andrei is our dreams from the past. We all took the Andrei bate that he was something special and something different that was rare in the NBA. There wasn't a soul who didn't regard AK as an up-and-coming top ten, if not top five, player in the league. We got excited. I get it. We got really excited. Even though we've accepted the truth with Andrei, there's still that part deep down that wishes "if only" regarding AK and believes that if we let him go we let go of all those dreams and all that emotion we once invested. It's nearly akin to leaving an abusive spouse after years of thinking they'd change and that everyone else is wrong and "if they could only see what I see."

Take a minute and clear your mind of our favorable past with Andreiand pretend he's another guy in the league. Is this guy we've had for the past 5 years someone we really want on the team. Does he really bring that much or do we see that by superimposing "the old AK" to make us look at a couple block shots as 'contributing so much to the game'.

So how do you explain his stats?
 
As far as a talent standpoint he would be great coming off the bench. But it's time to move on with this new group. You can count on ak to miss at least 20 games a year, he hasn't improved in a long time, and he just doesnt seem connected to his teammates. Not worth it IMO
 
Divorce is always tough... But it's always less painful when it's quick.

Get rid of AK.

11 points and 5 rebounds while missing 18 games this season and once again being a complete liability on the offensive end in a contract (motivated) year doesn't exactly scream resignage.

Quite honestly, AK doesn't fit on this team anymore. We need shooters to help keep the lane clear for Jefferson, Millsap, and Favors. AK's "talents" are better suited for a team that plays fast, can't shoot, and run the ball up the court for lots of dunks (like the Suns or Warriors).

How do you explain Stephon Marbury's stats? What about Tracy McGrady's? Mark Jackson was also the most talented person to ever back up Stockton. We brought in Amaechi because he could hit a jumpshot. JR Smith is a phenominal player too. So was Rod Strickland.

I don't like AK really at all but if you think CJ is a bargain at 4 mil I'm pretty sure AK is a better bargain at 4 mil. I hate how injured he gets but you got to admit when he plays good he is great for the team, only thing is he rarely does that anymore. He can be the back up 3 and give him a 4 mil contract for 2 years with a 3rd year option. I'm sure he'll take it if he wanted to help out the franchise a couple years ago and offered to give up all that money he was supposed to be owed

I remember that - actually AK was on full-on whiny moody teenager mode and was actually threatening to go back to Russia if he didn't get more touches. There was no talk of him getting less money - per the CBA, that's not allowed - but he would've had to have accepted a $0 buyout (a la Fisher) to go play in Europe. He wasn't doing it to help out the Jazz, he was helping out AK.
 
As long as Hayward starts, they can resign Ak (and/or Miles)to please his fans who want to watch him hang out on the bench while his hair flows gently with the wind.

I think Miles is probably under the impression he is starting next year, and I dont want coaches giving spots to veterans just because they are veterans, a mistake that helped ruin this very season.
