What's new

General NBA Craziness and How it Applies to Utah

He also tweeted wierd stuff and took down all Jazz things from twitter.

He gone.

Sucks, but i will cheer for him wherever he goes and will be rooting for him. Great dude.

Stopped and signed my son's jersey at the warriors game... he was super excited.

If you consider total value

Beverley over Bledsoe over Rubio

Sent from my VS995 using JazzFanz mobile app

Depends... if Hayward is gone Bledsoe is a good fit as a guy who can score.

If we keep hayward I think Beverly and Rubio are good fits. Assuming Hill is gone both fit nicely cap wise. I think the cost to acquire rubio is less than Beverly.

It's more true. The trust's job is to make money, not win titles.

The negotiations and clarifications working with the league took over 12 months, according to Haslam.

The profit stays within the trust. The profit that stays within the trust will be used as retained earnings, for expansion, for player salaries, or other operations.

Gail Miller called the legacy trust a "capstone" to her family's efforts to keep the Jazz in Utah. The legacy trust will provide financial stability to the organization for the foreseeable future as the goal remains to win multiple NBA titles. Additionally, the trust will not provide any "material benefit to the family from the Jazz."

Tony Jones twitter is interesting.. check it out.

Says we may not have one of our picks by draft night. Says Rubio on the radar. Says we will not trade Hood or Burks. Hood because of Hayward uncertainty and Burks because we want to rehab his value.

Seemed convinced.

Those all sound plausible to me.

I think a Favors trade definitely happens today/tonight. I just hope it's a trade that has at least the potential to improve our team significantly going forward. Even if it takes packaging other assets with him to do it. I hope it's not a swap for something that will keep us the same or barely move the needle.

Sounds like Ainge s going after Porz.

Porz doesn't bring a lot of salary. If they can get him, It makes it much easier to sign Hayward. I'll bet the whole "Porz is available" is a stunt by Phil Jackson anyway. Bet he doesn't get traded.

Phil Jackson is just stroking his own ego. With these KP trade talks. Trying to show KP that he's in charge after KP missed an exit meeting. It's the same reason he was publicly bashing Melo. He needs his ego stroked at all times.

Ainge is too stingy with picks.

I don't see anything happening there.

This all makes me kind of nervous... We may do a deal we regret when Hayward leaves and sit in the middle try to patch it together.

Lol.

After all the arguing we did with stitches yesterday, I'm starting to get that same sick stomach feeling about making bad moves to appease the fans that will be pissed about losing Hayward.

I still think it's possible to find a move or 2 that would be worth while, but I definitely don't want to burn assets on someone like LMA just to have them leave in a year. If the right moves aren't there, I might be hopping on the stitches train.

Yea if Celtics get KP I'm gonna be REALLY worried about Hayward.

IT
X
Hayward
KP
Horford

Possible they give the Cavs a run for their money.

You pray they have to take Noah to get KP.

Trading Favors is the logical thing to do. Think about it:

- he doesn't fit next to Gobert. Yes, during the season they can excel, but not when we need it most.
- if we traded him before July 1, we could take back $25 million since we have $13 million in 2016-17 cap space
- we aren't going to want to re-sign him next summer. We aren't spending 45% of our cap on a PF/C and a C in a league led by wings
- we have bigger needs at the wing and PG than we do at PF. With Gobert, a number of different types of guys can fit at PF. We don't need him as much
- he's too injury prone. It sucks, but it's a reality. We need guys we can count on. I'd rather have injury prone oversized PG Hill than Favors.
- he's an asset right now. If he walks next summer, that's yet another asset we lose for nothing.

He's a great guy, and I wish him a successful career. It's not his fault we found Gobert, but we found Gobert. We need his money for more necessary positions.

Wait, so a number of guys can fit next to Rudy at PF. Just not the good 2-way player Favors.

I think Favors is trade bait in the right deal, however, this idea of we need to trade him for who the hell knows what because Lyles or Diaw fit better is nuts. And we aren't getting Porz in any scenario that doesn't include Rudy. Latest report has Phil holding out for both Brooklyn picks, Brown and Crowder. Phil isn't giving him to us just to make your wildest dreams come true.

I never said Diaw or Lyles fit better. I just don't believe, and Quin didn't either, that Favors and Gobert can be on the floor at the same time against GS or other contenders. He refused to play them together in the GS series.

Of course he's better than Lyles and Diaw right now, but we can find other players to play PF and use Favors as an asset to improve at PG or wing depth. We will lose Favors next summer. Trade him for something now.
