The Jazz have acquired the 13th pick and select Donovan Mitchell

He's not the #1 pick, he's late lottery. We got him for #24 and a player who was never going to do anything. If he's a solid contributor then it was a good pick.

But he's young and talented enough, that there is a chance he could be a steal.
 
I said this on the draft thread. 2-way players are more important than ever. Lyles would never be able to see the court in a Golden State series.
 
There are plenty of us who might have traded 24 and Hood for Mitchell. The fact that all it took was 24 and Lyles is amazing.

What a coup. Giving up a guy who, while I personally liked him, had a god awful year to move up 11 spots in the draft is nuts.

Now I know nothing about Mitchell, but his athleticism is great and he has a willingness to play defense. I like both of those traits. I hope he works hard at his shot.

His shot is already pretty good. Biggest area of improvement is handle and finishing in traffic.
 
I fear Lyles will now break out of his sophomore slump but this seems like a good trade. Time will tell I suppose.

Plus he was super excited to be taken by the Jazz. :)
 
Solid trade. I like Mitchell as a prospect. I LOVE that we didn't give up a ton to move up. I'm just not jumping for joy because I think higher prospects on my board will be there at 24. Which makes me nervous.
 
And DL shave about a mill and a half off the books. Could be very handy when it comes to players like Hill.

So #13 (Mitchell) and 1.4 mill in space for Lyles and 24.

DL just crushed this.
