General NBA Craziness and How it Applies to Utah

How did I miss that Layden was the Wolves GM?

I didn't realize that he was the GM either, thought he was an assistant GM somewhere.

But this is a perfect opportunity for the pic that never gets old:

Still can't believe Minny got Butler, NW is gonna be interesting.

I have read some skepticism of Minny. Wiggins and Butler are very similar players, both play with the ball in their hands and are terrible spot up shooters. According to the guy I read (and the one game I saw KAT play live) KAT also needs the ball in his hands to create his own shot.

This is my ultimate hope, that Layden will continue the excellent work he did as GM in New York several years ago.

I don't think they're the best team in the NW but they no doubt improved.

So word this morning is indicating the FA market for George Hill may be evaporating.

Minnysota believes the pass-first Rubio is perfect to pair with Wiggins, Butler and Towns. They are looking for a back-up pg.

Dallas will not be chasing a high-level FA pg after drafting Dennis Smith Jr.

San Antonio? Maybe, but they have Dejounte Murray and added Derrick White last night. Perhaps they re-sign Patty Mills and wait for Parker to rehab.

Somebody will pay for him. San Antonio is a good fit for him if they can't get Paul or anybody else. Hill can play next to Murray, Parker, etc.

If Paul leaves, maybe the Clippers overpay for Hill.

I could see Houston getting desperate if they miss out on a star and overpay Hill. Look what they gave Ryan Anderson.

I wonder what the latest on Teodosic is. Chicago is going into tank mode. Brooklyn picked up D'Angelo Russell. Those were two of his suitors.

Also, if I were the Jazz I would try to trade for Paul George. I'd offer Favors, Diaw, a first rounder and one of our guards.

That's WAY too much for a one year rental. Mid first rounder seems about right to me.

Both the basketball fan and the jazz fan in me would love to see Blake griffin in Boston, I think he fills a bigger need for them than wing, thus giving the eastern a challenger, and it increases jazz chance of retaining Hayward.

If Paul signs in Houston ( doubtful) my guess is it is a 1+1 player option. I think he and LeBron still dream of forming the Bahamas buddies team.

They do have young wings that they've drafted at #3. It would seem odd that they'd add both George and Hayward to that mix. That said, I think they still want Hayward.

I would take Hayward over Griffen 10 times out of 10. Its a wing and PG league. If you have 2 bigs who defend, play hard and rebound, you are fine as long as you have great wings and pg.

Worth the read. http://www.cleveland.com/pluto/index.ssf/2017/06/cleveland_cavaliers_scribbles_54

Major takeaways:

Boston leads chase for Paul George because LA lacks the assets.

Indy doesnt want Love for George "at least not now."

Article mentions 3 team deal with Indy (assets), Cavs (George) and Boston (Love). But it didn't make sense.

LA and Indy discussed Ingram (according to reports), but he is the type player "Magic would love" (according to speculation).

My take away - George is going to Boston unless LA really steps up. Love is attainable but Cavs need a difference maker back. Ingram is not untouchable.
