What's new

Ricky Rubio

He's a career 37.5% shooter from the floor and 31.5% from three. Even allowing a gigantic margin of error that we could attribute to coaching turnover to play devils advocate, he still shoots horribly.

Can anyone find someone with a worse career FG% who's been in the league for more than a few years and was a starter?

Jason Kidd ALMOST qualifies, but not quite. 40% career FG%.

Of course I also disliked Jason Kidd as a player about as much as I dislike Rubio.

I agree... his offensive numbers suck. But with a halfway decent coach this season he did finally manage to shoot 40% from the field. And another defensive-minded player - Wesley Matthews - had a worse FG% than Rubio this season.

I wouldn't mind Beverley, either, but anything can happen - DL is obviously enamored with Mitchell - maybe he plans on Mitchell and Exum fighting for the starting PG spot. It sounds weird to consider that but there are so many question marks with Hayward still up in the air.

I wouldn't mind signing Holiday to a two-year deal and the same for Ilyasova.

Cool. Also keep in mind that he is the best passer in the league.

Being the best passer is only so useful if you cant create offense because no one respects your scoring ability. John Stockton could make so many great passes because he could finish at the rim and hit a jump shot, things Rubio consistently finishes towards the bottom of the league at.

I really only want Rubio bc I think he's incredibly fun to watch.

I acknowledge that he's not a great fit here.

I'm in on team Milos.

No ****. He'd be a damn superstar if he could shoot like Stockton. But unless your offseason plan is to sign CP3 we're still not finding a better PG than him on the market.

Steve Nash was a bad defender. I would take 30 yr. old Nash on the Jazz any day of the week. The fact is we do not know how Teodosic's game will translate to the NBA, but I think he'd be really good. I think his O will make up for his D and then some.

I've merely done a quick browse of this thread, but I didn't see anybody mention that Rubio has played for probably the greatest dumpster fire of an organization on this side of the Mississippi. All of his warts deserve that asterisk. How many dumbass SGs has he had to share space with? LaVine goes down last year + Thibs system begins to take some root = Rubio has a magnificent second half. His stock has been low as **** for a long time. He's the best example of a reclamation project not names Alec Burks that I can think of. I'll buy. And Beverley. Q will find minutes.

Did you really just compare Teodosic to Nash? You didn't compare you basically said he is.

Steve Nash won back-to-back MVP's at the ages of 30 and 31.

Everything depends on Hayward. I would not sign Teo before Hayward and if we needed a point guard pre-free agency Beverly and Rubio are my preferred options.... in that order.

Ricky gets a ton of deflections, loose balls, and steals. I can only imagine that would improve with Gobert behind him. If we get him I will talk myself into the second half of his last year... if we don't I will say its a complete fluke.

I would love Beverley. I'm only saying Rubio would be a great alternative to Hill leaving.
