STAYWARD

I do agree that Haywards agent should make an official announcement that they are still trying to decide and when they will announce their decision.

A S&T doesn't mean he needs to deny that he's going to Boston. It also doesn't explain why the Jazz FO would tweet that they have not been informed of a decision and that they have been talking to Gordan regularly.

S&T is NOT an explanation.

It might be... if it was a sign and trade all parties would have an interest in denying the report and walking it back. If he chooses Boston now with nothing coming back we are justified in crucifying him before... he would have just been the one that got away before... now he'd be the one who ripped our heart out and stomped on it:

Exactly. This is just like what happened with Dwight Howard in 2013.

No need to get your hopes up and be checking for updates on the 4th of july non-stop.

The rebuild is officially in full swing, Joe Johnson is the starting SF next season.
Good advice and like HH my wife might divorce me over this, but can't help it. Not strong enough. Plus, its fun.

No, if that's the case you just let the leak hang there and at most just say that you'll make an official announcement when you're ready. You don't call the truth a lie.

I can't imagine why a fake leak would cause Hayward to have to reconsider anything?

The only way that makes sense is if he told someone he trusted in the Celtics organization he was going there but to keep it quiet and next thing you know there's a story on ESPN before he tells the Jazz and makes his blog post. Now he's not sure he can trust this person anymore and that makes him question going to Boston.

Just spitballing here.

Or as Handlogten said, a sign-and-trade so GH gets max, Celtics clear space without having to just release some players and Gordon saves face. Crowder and Olynyk would at least give Utah needed depth. They can't clear enough cap room to sign anyone of significance (only $14-$15M by renouncing everyone they can, including giving up their exceptions).

I think this is what happened. Someone contacted someone Gordon knows.
They said he's leaning Boston. Then that got reported as going to Boston. When news got to Gordon he may be upset cause he wanted to call Utah first.
Now he may be rethinking about going to Boston. Like they back stabbed him.
This is some crazy azz drama though.

I desperately need to take a ****, but reception is terrible on the toilet, and I'm afraid to miss the announcement.

this process is peak gordon hayward, in hindsight i shouldn't have envisioned it going any other way.

No he isnt. We have Hood and Ingles to start. We are not in rebuild mode. We have the best center in the NBA and great pieces around him. We also have cap room if Hayward is gone and a lot of players who can step up and fill that role. We also have a player entering his prime at PG that is statistically rated just slightly below all-star the could potentially take a jump in a better system. No reason for your silly claims that keep getting proven wrong over and over again.

STUPID !!! You don't start a rebuild with a 36 yr old player .....if anything it will be

Joe Ingles with 1st opportunity OR you slide Hood over to Haywards slot and put Exum at SG with Ingles (super sub) and you keep a healthy Alec Burks

Here's the latest from Chris Haynes: http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19810138/gordon-hayward-picks-boston-celtics-utah-jazz-miami-heat

Gordon Hayward plans to sign with the Boston Celtics, sources told ESPN, choosing their offer over those from the Utah Jazz, his team since 2010, and the Miami Heat.

Hayward's agent, Mark Bartelstein, however, told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that his client "hasn't made a decision yet. We are still working through it."

Jazz president Steven Starks tweeted that he trusts Bartelstein's word that no decision has been made.

Bartelstein also told the Boston Globe that although Hayward initially planned to announce his decision Tuesday, he was unsure if that would still be the case.

"That was the goal, but now we've got to kind of regroup here a bit," he told the Globe.

There's more fluff after that.

So he's sticking with his story that someone told him that, but he's not saying who, and he's not saying that those sources are STILL telling him that.

Crowder and Olynyk would fill the needs on our roster nicely if that is the way the Jazz choose to go.
