Hood traded to Cleveland for Crowder; Johnson to Sacramento

No, it means our offense forced Hood into those shots.

Eh, I saw many times where he didn’t have to take a tough/bad shot and did anyway. Missed open teammates a lot.
And when hood is out someone still always has to take shots at the end of shot clocks and that are guarded closely as well.

Our record without hood? 10-5.

You have a very selective memory then.

While Hood wasn't perfect for us, he was our second best option to create something and he played most of his minutes without Mitchell. And yeah, someone will have to take those shots and they will be less effective than Hood.

We also got hot without Hood. We could have got hot with him too.

I guess the number one question now is who is going to create when Donovan and Ricky sits, but perhaps they won't sit too much at the same time.

I am starting to worry the Jazz FO see Exum as a 2.... Is this really what people think his best position will be? Could he evolve into a 'small' 3?

When he played with Mitchell in the summer league they looked pretty interchangeable and positionless. I would imagine that Exum would take the harder defensive assignment out of the 1 and 2. When playing with Rubio, he would be an off-ball 2 and defend the 2. Otherwise he just runs the point. Neto and Burks going to get their minutes crunched.

When Hood was available to take those shots. One of the biggest issues the Jazz have had is injuries. Hood sitting out two weeks with "contusions" was not helpful at all.

Good morning guys. Fellas, I am so glad this trade deadline is over.

My final analysis of the trade comes down so one point and one question:

The Point - we have played at every level this year. We have shown we can play with anybody and as poorly as anybody. Essentially, the trade yesterday replaces Hood and JoeJ' productions with Crowder and Exum's. I haven't seen many talk about Exum. Considering how well we played during this streak without Hood and with old Joe, I am very optimistic about adding Exum and Crowder as weapons on both ends of the court.

The Question - what is the impact of the battle for starting PF? In my opinion, Crowder should start at PF while Gobert plays a little less. He played 38 minutes against Memphis. That is unwise usage. If Favors starts, how does Crowder handle it? If Quin can manage this well, we are so incredibly balanced in the 1st and 2nd unit. If Quin or the players don't handle it well, this can become an unfortunate distraction.

Overall, I give the trade a high B but give the deadline a D. Too bad we couldn't send Burks and our 2nd to the Kings in place of Joe (we would have just bought him out). If we could have gotten value without a contract for Favors, we might should have to avoid an issue with our PF thing.

I'm glad we hung on to Favors, personally. He's key to getting to the playoffs, and I think he might resign as well, but even if he doesn',t I like it.
As for starting, I strongly doubt Crowder starts, but I think we might do something like we've played a bit recently where Derrick goes out early, after 4-5-6 minutes, Crowder in, then Gobert out and Favors in after 8 minutes or so. Who finishes I suppose will depend a lot on who we play, but I go agree that Crowder should take some minutes from Rudy. 38 is too much for a 7 footer.

Yeah, they weren't. I understand why trade had to be done.

Why do you assume they will be less effective than hood?
Couldnt we move the ball better and run the offense better and get better and more efficient shots without him?
Is that not a possibility? If not, then this was a very strange trade indeed and DL must be a dummy
