Game 3 WCSF: Thank you, Kobe! — Rockets @ Jazz 5/4/2018 8:30 pm MST

Trouble is that Exum hasn't looked confident running the point. He is playing solid D, but you might've noticed he made a bad turnover and Quin immediately took him out.

Donovan seemed to be trying to force things but they were doubling him and then Capella was helping as the third man. He should've played more as a decoy because of how much they were keying in on him. But as bad as he was, Rudy was just as bad. Capella dominated him. Rudy needs to develop some offensive skills besides dunking and get stronger. But even without those skills, there were lobs and rebounds that he should've gotten. He was a big disappointment to me this game.

I think Exum is confident. He is just a TO machine lately. But the good thing is that those turnovers come from driving and being agressive. We are already turning the ball over a ton. Id rather those be the turnovers rather than lazy cross court passes or top of the key dumb passes. At least with Exum starting we getting immediate defense on Harden and he should give us a few nice passes off his drives to the hoop.

Its not ideal right now, but its are only choice. Cant play Neto much. He sucks bad. Donovan is in a funk trying to play point against Houston. For some reason. I blame Kobe.

I maybe got frustrated at the bar tonight and took off my Jersey in disgust only to discover I had on a jazz tank top. Thank God I wasn't drinking very much and everyone had to see my jazz underwear or worse...

Jazz can’t go hero ball toe to toe with the Rockets and expect to come out on top. Still need to move the ball, passes, handoffs, screens, pin downs, slip screens. Seemed like they went iso, iso, iso or tries to get Gobert on a lob inside when they got a matchup they wanted. Better to get those guards on a big down on the block and then let Rudy or Favors post them up. Draw fouls on Harden and CP3. Can’t allow them to get what they want and draw defenders without rotating.

Mitchell sucks so bad in this match.
After all the abuses Ben simmons received on this forum yesterday for his poor performance, I now believe instant karma does exist.

I didn't totally get the rotations tonight...
Was it just a bit all over the place because of the score? And when did garbage time actually begin? I'm thinking about the time Mitchell first went out in the third.

Team didn't have much of an identity tonight.

Ya, it seemed like once they got rattled they threw the gameplan out the window. Happens everytime. Its annoying. They need to make a plan for what couple plays they will go to when things get out of hand like that. Something like not a 3 pointer.

Donavan needs to use his spin instead of forcing his drive
That was the one thing I disagreed with in Kobe's analysis. Kobe said that Mitchell needed to go straight up the defender's chest when he's in the restricted area -- well, what works for a 6'6" Kobe doesn't necessarily work for a 6'3" Mitchell. The spin and evasive, long-reach-for-the-backboard layup is one of DM's signature plays; Kobe basically told Mitchell to forget that move.

Now Mitchell needs to unlearn what Kobe told him to do.
