WCSF Game 4: James Harden Exposed -- Rockets at Jazz 5/6/2018 6:00 pm MST

Was Favors hurt during the game again? If not why didnt he get more minutes. He matches up against Clint Capela much better than Gobert does. Gobert is getting out hustled and just not handling the physicality of him. Favors boxes him out and is just as strong as Clint. Favors in this game was +14 which was best on our team and Gobert was -27 which was the worst.

I will say I am happy we won at least 1 game in this series and competed in this game. With our injuries and youth that is great against the #1 seed team.

There is still a chance we get Rubio back next game and steal one on the road, this team has fight. We could still push this to game 7. Although its unlikely.

It's awfully sad that a player can have this level of success and even be MVP just by exploiting the hell out of the league's dumbass referees.

I think Rubio plays next game. Hard to lose Dante though. Geez!

Need to change the game plan. I say they go with this.

Starters

Rudy
Favors
Udoh
Jerebko
Tony Bradley

Never dribble the ball. Throw it over the guards all the way down the court. Get all the rebounds. Take lots of shots at the end of the shot clock. Slow the game way down. Block lots of shots . Or at least alter a lot.

Revolutionize the league.

TallBall.

It's sad. I love Basketball more than any sport but unfortunately it's the most corrupt sport in the world. The underdogs never have a chance to win the championship unlike any other sport

This can be true only if the "underdog" really doesn't have the talent to just absorb the bad calls and find the way to make the shots. A player who can just focus on the next play has a real talent.

Playing the most likely WC rep for the championship series, and we're down some players, and still in the game. Pretty good in my book.

the reffing issue is legit. Still we will win game five.

I do to.

I dont like that lineup for it in particular, but I think you could construct one that might just work. No one would have thought small ball was a good idea years ago. Someone just needs to have the balls to do it. You just gotta get some smart tall guys who can shoot a little and dribble a little. But I would still try to slow it down and not dribble that much. Just get guys who know how to post up and hold their guys off. You could put post ups all around the key just on the edge and clog it up without getting 3 second calls. Post up your way all over the court basically. Then pass it to the next post up. On defense you can switch all day and contest shots all day, and get tons of rebounds.

This could be a possible strength of lineup you might be able to build based on assets, but probably not exact guys.

Rudy Gobert
Mark Gasol
Al Horford
Derrick Favors
Domantas Sabonis
Jakob Poetle
Dwayne Dedmon
Alex Len
Pau Gasol
Greg Monroe

But if I could have any big man I wanted and I put them against the best small ball team I would like my chances

Anthony Davis
Karl Towns
Rudy Gobert
Clint Capella
Mark Gasol
Nikola Jokic
Demarcus Cousins
Al Horford
Andre Drummond
Joel Embiid

Vs

Small Ball

Steph Curry
James Harden
Klay Thompson
Damian Lillard
John Wall
Jrue Holiday
Chris Paul
Victor Olapdipo
Russell Westbrook
Devin Booker

Who would win? I would love to see that, but my money is on Tallball

But what about medium ball?

Lebron James
Kevin Durant
Giannis antetokounmpo
Kawhi Leonard
Paul George
Demar Derozan
Jimmy Butler
Kris Middleton
Aaron Gordon
Draymond Green

Is that the better team?

Hmmmm

O'neal has had some moments in this series...but overall he's been terrible. I cringe whenever he has the ball. Just has no idea what to do with it.

It's too bad he was thrust into such a key role. It was obviously too much.

I just wish we could have played these games with Rubio. We were rolling, and again got hit with the injury bug.

I wasn't too impressed with the Rockets tonight. They were beatable. We just lacked that intense energy, and focus.
The game was right there in the 4th for stealing.

Favors didnt play much or start cause he sprained his ankle last game. He was literally questionable up until the game started

I honestly don't agree with this. He generally looks really spry, strong and decisive.

I think he is a little one dimensional when he drives and has limited finesse etc.

But his handle is better than I thought and he is sneaky quick.

I think he does get confused as to when it's his time to initiate within the flow etc...

He is much better at basketball than I realised

ONeal can never be more than our 3rd wing if we want to progress. Good contract, contributes but lets be honest, hes this years Shelvin Mack, starts for us but would be 3rd string on any other team.

So who am I describing?

-Contributor on good contract
-Starts when he he is nothing more than a rotation player
-Quins pet
-Sucks up to the teams best player
-Mistake prone
-Always trys to do to much

We need to stop polishing terds.

He’s starting because of injury concerns... I don’t see a shelvin Mack comp here at all.

Royce is very good and makes a defensive impact. What he gives on offense is a bonus. He had to be aggressive yesterday. We have too many injuries and it wasn’t like DM was getting a ton of separation.

Royce ain’t Mack... Royce ain’t the problem.
