Hahahah Denver is the goat for Jazz trades. If Donovan ends up a stud. Denver will never ever answer a trade call with us ever again.

I think his inefficiency is a symptom of a game plan that was thrown together once we realized he could score 20+pts a night and he was just told to go score, because we needed someone to score. I think next year there will be a better game plan and his efficiency will go up. He won't be a career high volume/low efficiency guy. He's way, WAY too smart for that. Also broke the record for most 3pt'ers missed.
His inefficiency might be cause for concern going forward. But I'm 99% positive it's something he'll focus on this summer.
Completely unfair to the organization but of the 21st pick this year doesn’t turn into someone like Malone/Stockton/Bird/Magic/LeBron/Jordan ...I’m going to be highly disappointed...
His shot is already pretty good. Biggest area of improvement is handle and finishing in traffic.
Not with the 21st, but I heard Lindsey has called Denver and proposed #21 and Bradley for their pick.Completely unfair to the organization but of the 21st pick this year doesn’t turn into someone like Malone/Stockton/Bird/Magic/LeBron/Jordan ...I’m going to be highly disappointed...
No, he really improved on those things over the off-season and throughout th e year. He talked about how the Jazz sent him video of different all-star guards and how they did certain finishes for him yo practice.Did you mean his biggest strengths are his handle and finishing in traffic?
Yeah cuz Dwill played for an old stubborn coach. The challenge now is for DL to build a contender around Mitchell. I remember Deron saying all the right things...and then he turned sullen and bitchy. I think a lot of that was due to him realizing he couldn't attract stars to Utah. I just hope the same doesn't happen down the road with Donovan, if the Jazz can't attract another 1-2 players to make Utah a contender.
There's a lot of truth to that. As great as Sloan was, I think he should have retired 5-10 years before he quit. I just don't think modern players responded to his style of coaching and dealing with players.Yeah cuz Dwill played for an old stubborn coach.
Mitchell playing for a coaching gawd.
That's weird.. I don't really remember very much of us being high on Lyles. That's why we love the trade so much.
- We got positive value for Lyles
- We traded into the lottery of a loaded draft
- We drafted our guy we wanted from the start
- We saved money doing it
- Most of us thought 24 and Lyles could get us at most 18 from Indiana
This was such a good move and such a savvy move by DL.

I disagree. IMO You take a rookie, and ask him to be option#1 he’s going to be inefficient, plus he was the only true threat as a scorer, which means all of the other teams efforts were to stop Mitchell first, second, and third. The fact that he’s still learning the game as a rookie under the conditions I mentioned im Shocked at the rate of efficiency he had. He’s only going to get better, which includes his efficiency.I think his inefficiency is a symptom of a game plan that was thrown together once we realized he could score 20+pts a night and he was just told to go score, because we needed someone to score. Continue laying your douchy eggs, bunch of squakers in here. Sloan is one of the best coaches ever. He demanded his players play hard and smart, and act as men, that just isn’t in some people. DWill was a spineless little bitch, who by the way was branded a coach killer after he got his coach fired from the nets by the rest of the league. He also had nothing but good things to say about Sloan’s coaching, and how it was hard on him but made him a better player. Stockton and Malone wouldn’t have been HOFers without himThere's a lot of truth to that. As great as Sloan was, I think he should have retired 5-10 years before he quit. Bump. Still not sure how DL pulled it off.
Still not sure why the Nuggets did this trade, traded for Lyles then drafted with the jazz pick a lesser version of Lyles. It boggles the mind. It was just a bad trade all around for Denver.

Oh, well, okay. But I think coaching is going to be a big part of the solution to his inefficiency, along with his own development, intelligence and effort. You pointed to coaching, where as I said it’s becay he’s a rookie and inexperienced/learning curve.
