Sorry Jazz fans – Ben is the NBA Rookie of the Year

LOL ... the players didn't think so. The future will tell us who's the better player. Who knows we may never know for sure. Magic didn't win it because Bird also was a rookie. But it's still debatable who was better.

A bunch of stuffy pencil pushers voted Simmons then after the playoffs regretted it, and Donovan and Ben’s fellow players, who know better voted Mitchell ROY. Clearly everyone knows Mitchell is better at basketball

Mitchell said it best when he said the people who actually have to play against him and guard him voted for him.

After the players voted, I realized I don’t care much for these awards. They may be a fun distraction when it’s slow way after the season, but they are so biased. I’m sure the player vote is biased too, but they are on the floor with them, not watching from the outside. I only care if these somehow motivate our players somehow, whether it be a goal or bulletin board material.

But that Nike announcement said he was not a rookie...

It said not a rookie. Not a question mark... kind of a dick move to throw your own guy under the bus.

Sorry NBA fans, a player who was already motivated to win just got a big reason to try harder.

It is an insult to most rookies to say that they can only shoot as well as Simmons.
You're misinterpreting my comment. It was meant to be a sarcastic jab at Simmons, that he'll likely never be able to shoot better than he does now, as a rookie ... you took it too literally and it wasn't meant for all rookies, just Simmons.

I think he understood your comment. He was just adding to the joke by amplifying how bad Simmons' shooting is.
