Gauging Devin Harris' Trade Value

Hello all, long time lurker--first time poster here.
Just wondering what you guys think about Devin Harris.
Presently and long-term.

Recently read a rumor where the UJ Management was open to trading him.
Is that how the fanbase as a whole feel, as well?
What would you want in return? How about a package including Roddy Beaubois, a late 1st round pick, cash and Brendan Haywood from Dallas (which works under the current CBA)? I mention Dallas because Harris himself has said he considers Dallas his home and the Mavs have been rumored to been wanting to bring back their former team captain for a while now.

I presume you are a Dallas/Harris fan?

For the record I'm pretty sure no one here wants any part of Haywood's contract.

I think Harris is perfect for our current needs and hope he at least gets a season or two here as we place a rookie PG underneath him (Knight, Walker or Fredette). He's an above average PG with good size, that I feel he was icing on the cake when you consider Favors came with him.

As for trade value, I'm not sure what we'd get in return. The backcourt is the great need of ours right now, so he's worth more to us than say Dallas with Kidd and JJ (I have a feeling Barea will be back in a Mavs uniform). I don't think you'll see that trade, in fact I don't think you'll see Harris traded unless it's for another PG.

Considering the current team needs (experience and backcourt), Harris is extremely valuable.

I like Harris but I like what the Jazz could get in return more though. KOC is very patient and after getting rid of your only All Star you have to be willing to trade anyone as long as the offer is right. KOC will make the right choice.

Yup, Mavs fan indeed. Hope that's OK, I come in peace.

Just trying to figure out some deals that Jazz fans would be OK with.
RoddyB has a lot of potential btw, even at the PG position.
I think Dallas would also be open to a JJBarea sign-n-trade if y'all are interested.
Haywood is a solid, a starting-caliber center, but ya his contract is pretty looooong.
If y'all aren't interested in 'Wood, maybe we can involve some other teams in a 3some or a even a quad-trade scenario to bring the Cap'n back to Dallas.

Mama Harris,

I really enjoy having your son on our team, but seeing all the love leaves me wanting to help you make it work out. Let's get it done.

;)

sorry, but I don't think Dallas has the right assets for a 2-team trade to work. You'd have to get a third team involved.

Your son Harris is on his way to Portland.

2 team trades are boring anyways. I'm open to a 3some or even a quaddeal. Who would you want from Portland? Andre Miller? lol.

I think we all want Wes Matthews back. But, dude, Porty wants your man... they tried to get him from NJ at last year's deadline. If the Jazz and Blazers can shake off the hate and do some business together, there are a couple of good deals for both teams.

I get trading Harris if we get a better PG back, but otherwise I'm very down on the idea. I can't imagine KOC is working any deals for Harris that doesn't include some kind of respectable PG since we have absolutely nothing in that department once he's gone.

Who do we trade to Porty? Millsap for Matthews?

^^ What he said.

Harris has more value to us than to other teams, based on need factors, Harris is one of the most valuable players on our team. Price and Watson are great backups, but with both being free agents we have zero guarantees at PG.
