Yeah but to that I have a couple of points:

1. Trump made a whole lot more money than the previous administration off of Tariffs from China - so there's more money to play with now.

2. The new trade deal with Mexico there will be more money from that that was not there before.

3. Also you have to bite the bullet at one point. It's like rinstalling a home security system for the house. It ain't cheap, but for the future longevity of the house and the safety of the people living in it, it needs to be done.

4. Illegal immigrants costs the State money to deal with in the long term. So there's future cost savings to be had there too.

1. That money was dwarfed by the cost of covering farmers losses for the retaliatory tariffs and and the tax cuts. There is less money to go around.
2. Since we were already dealing with Mexico under NAFTA, there will be little change.
3. It's like reinstalling a home security system for a 160-acre pasture you own. Expensive, easy to circumnavigate, not durable, and the wrong tool for the job.
4. Illegal immigrants make money for the country. Many of them come for a couple of decades, pay taxes, send a bunch of the remaining money home, and return to their home country to retire.

I just don't think dismissing it outright just because 'It's Trump's idea' is a good idea.

I agree that is not the reason to dismiss a border wall.

Why do we need a "wall?" Couple of rows of barbed, electrified prison fencing with armed guard houses should do the trick. And yes, criminals are just going to tunnel under. So you need eyes and ears in the border towns. Mischief managed!

Our budget is controlled by laws, and those laws don't say anywhere "if a President enacts a policy that increases revenue that money belongs to the President to allocate at their own discretion without the oversight of Congress." 1: Then explain why the deficit is rising at such a fast rate.
2. Speculative, and, again, just because there is money doesn't mean you get to spend it on whatever you want.
3. The country is not a house. I refuse to respond to any analogies which equate the two.
4. Wrong, wrong, and wrong. 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants provide MORE benefits to the country and cost less than "native born."

Always think the government is way too large. Government spawns positions of power, which can only be filled by fallible beings who can never think alike. So since people are guaranteed to make mistakes and disagree I'd prefer to limit the scope and collective power of the government.

I think it's bullcrap that Trump is threatening to declare a national emergency if he doesn't get his wall funding.
Call me crazy but I think you should only declare a national emergency if there is a national emergency....... If there is in fact something happening that warrants declaring a national emergency then shouldn't a national emergency be declared even if Trump gets his wall funding? But no, there is only a national emergency simply due to Trump not getting what he wants so he is essentially threatening to throw a tantrum at the expense of the country.

Can I say for the 1001st time, I'm not a ****ing Democrat and I don't give a **** if they supported something I NEVER supported. I've been for relatively open immigration my entire ****ing life. What some politician on either side thinks about it now or whenever has nothing to do with me.
