Lakers at Jazz Game Thread

Honestly the biggest positive of Korver has just been an offensive option to go to with the 2nd unit. No longer does the 2nd unit have to rely on creating a shot by running a good offensive set, they can just run Korver off pretty basic and easily manufactured motion.

Regular Season, yes. But I imagine Korver will be closing some games in the playoffs. That is why is he is playing light minutes now. Just like Joe Johnson a couple of years ago.

man Kevin Huerter... only if Allen can play a game like that for us...

huerter and shamet have gotten so much opportunity to play and learn; quin hasn't been near as flexible with grayson as lloyd pierce and brett brown have been with those 2 guys. even divincenzo has had alot of chances too even though he's played like crap most of the season. impossible to make judgments on allen w/ the garbage minutes he's gotten.

The Jazz are 11-1 when Korver makes 2 or more 3 pointers
This is why he should be starting and we just force him the ball the first 4-5 possessions. Pretty sure that’s how it works.

No, Westbrook is an absolute athletic freak, and Mitchell should not try to do what Westbrook does. Jazz need a ballhandler for most of the game who is NOT Mitchell to keep Mitchell fresh and focused in the fourth. I would rather he play D than get all the usage on Offense.

I said I didn’t want him going full Westbrook... we are more likely to find the things DM needs next to him in a shooting guard. I think he’s better on defense when he isn’t undersized... we can call the player whatever we want but a traditional pg isn’t the answer unless they are big and can shoot and can create their own shot.

Ingles and others can help but I don’t see why DM shouldn’t play the better part of his minutes at pg... not the iso 4th quarter stuff that gets stale.

Because it is much easier to find a stud pg than a stud 2 guard with range, especially one that will work with Mitchell. Good Rubio works well with Mitchell because he doesn't demand a lot of shots. Look at the Blazers. They get shots for their guards, but their bigs just wither away.

If you want Mitchell to be the next DWade you're not going to play him full time at PG

I get what you are saying but Dwade was always the creator. JWill and Payton weren’t playing like pgs at that time Wade had way more creation responsibility... on the defensive end wade is bigger than DM.

We are being too rigid imo... he works with both types... need to focus on the attributes of the player we need next to him in the backcourt... those attributes are most often found in guys considered to be 2s.

Those guys are undersized... their bigs are not guys that need or want the ball outsidenof Nurkic who is doing just fine. Don’t need a stud AS sg... honestly Joe/DM in the backcourt with an athletic 3 that can shoot would work really well.

His backcourt mate needs size imo... finding big pgs that can shoot and play defense is pretty tough to do.
