2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

I remember someone once saying that the jazz offense generates the most open threes or something.
If he shoots 44% from three now and you give him more open threes.......

AND NOBODY IS SENDING HELP FROM THE FOUR TO STOP THE LOB OR TO SWARM MITCHELL.

This team addresses that issue with certainty and finality while adding an offensive hub they don’t currently have and they are a perennial dark horse contender.

Those two things (in addition to being young enough to play at a high level for the next five years) are my criteria. The value of a productive, playmaking 4 that is a dead-eye shooter is hard to overstate for THIS team.

It looks like the Knicks are putting Tim Hardaway Jr on the trade block. He makes about 17K. Seems like about the same player as Otto, but cheaper.
17 thousand? I would pick him up.

Tim Hardaway Jr. on the trade block, he's one where we wouldn't have to give up any good assets and he can potentially be that 'other scorer'

Contract kinda hurts. But if someone is looking for the median option, here you go.

I liked him early when he was hot... then I watch him play basketball... I no longer like him.

I very much disagree on that. Why does no team want him either? Clippers dont seem that interested in keeping him anymore as well.

How about the fact that both Clips and Pistons were better when he was off the court last year? His team gives up a lot of points with him on the court.

On/Off is a lot about who you play with... Clips bring their best pg and center off the bench. Neither center is all that great on defense... and the center is the key to the defense.

Clips want him... they also want KD and Kawhi more... so do I. Plenty of teams want him... believe it.

He already shoots most of his 3s on open shots. 4.1 of his 4.7 3s per game are on open shots. Oddly he shoots worse on wide open shots than his average though at 42.7. He does drive the ball a lot, which fits in with our system this year. But he also runs a lot of ISO plays that does not fit in. He also is a really poor defender which does not fit in. He allows 70% at the rim. Which is one of the worst PFs in the league.

Not necessarily true. But even so the cost is so minuscule financially, they're worth keeping or moving for more value.

Last few picks in the 20s for the Jazz: Grayson Allen, Tony Bradley, pick used w/ Lyles to move to 13 and select some guy, Rodney Hood, Rudy Gobert, pick used w/ another pick to move up to #9.

I'll die on this hill. I can't give up a 1st round pick, no matter when, for a huge contract that doesn't provide adequate value (aka overpaid)

How many late picks turn into starters? Very few. How many dont make it in the NBA? A lot of them. Yes you can provide examples were it works out but chances are it doesnt. Also rookies dont contribute to winning basketball except in very rare circumstances. Usually 2nd year players dont as well. Teams usually sacrifice winning basketball to get them on the court.
