2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

RealGM Lakers forum is overflowing with angry Lakers fans complaining that league GMs are conspiring to not make trades with LA.
Oh poor lakers. They have LeBron for **** sakes. They had Kobe, and shaq, and gasol. They will probably get Kyrie, or KD, or kahwi, or AD or a combo of those guys.
They can eat a dick

Wow, I am surprised that we are going after Conley rather than Jrue. Jrue being younger and a better contract and better defensively. Not sure which PG would require more assets from Utah.
Perhaps jrue isn't available.

Why?

Stop. There is no fit whatsoever, and he has a player option for $20+ million

Conley if healthy is a third "star". He's very good. We can upgrade at the 4... we can also slot Favs there the rest of the season if he isn't in the deal.

My worry is his prior Achilles issues and age. If he can't play we get thing quick.

If we had to choose a "sweetner" would we include our pick in 2019? Allen? or Exum (not sure he has value)?

you guys really aren't realizing what having to guard our PG on the perimeter would do for the offense, he gets an efficient 20PPG, it's perfect.

Imagine Conley PnR's coming off Gobert screens.

Choo choo bitches.

Eff that... they can kick rocks. 2019 pick is more than fair. Shop the expirings we are sending to take salary for picks. They won't get a better pick without taking bad salary.

Detroit would have to send like 20-25M of **** salary for next year... SA would have to send $6M in dead salary and Patty Mills (longer overpaid deal). Who else is trading for Conley?

rubio + exum apparently works salary wise. i wouldn't include allen. he's on a rookie contract for 3 more years and has been showing flashes of being able to play on and off the ball and provide spacing while improving defense. i wouldn't give that up at all especially as korver is aging.

agreed. and you can still run PnR w/ don, allen, or neto and they still providing the shooting gravity to open up the offense. rubio and exum are ignored and leads to 4 on 5 on offense.

So to recap. Jrue isn't available (Jazz inquired and Pels said no).

Tony Jones is sounding like the deal has progressed very far.

Andy Larsen throwing out the possibility that it could be Rubio, Exum and two firsts? WTF?
Those guys, okay fine, but you do not give up two salary controlled contracts for a guy at his age on that contract and who could potentially terminate the last year on his contract if he was so inclined. if it's multiple firsts, i'd pass. One first is okay. But not more than this year's first.

The problem is, is that Conley can’t be our only move. What we’re left with realistically after that, though, kind of makes it be our only move.
Better than no move?

If we are giving a pick I think we have to hold onto our prospects like Allen and Exum imo... have to have a little potential boost/upside.
