When Hayward had his best year and PG was recovering from injury yet playing they were similar. PG is better, yet still fades in the playoffs.
This thread would be much better if it were "Wayward's Hoes". Just sayin'
Wonder if he saw any of this coming. I mean, even coming back from injury if he ever anticipated still coming off the bench 3/4 of the way into the season and being outplayed by a Morris twin.

I watched most of the game and he was invisible. Unless you were watching for him you'd never think he was even on the floor.

Not to pile on or beat a dead horse or [insert metaphor], BUT, I watched a lot of Boston-LA last night, looking specifically to see how Hayward was being used. On virtually every possession, he went straight to the corner and watched while a succession of players-Brown, Tatum, Rozier, either went 1-1 or received pass on a play designed for them to get a shot, while Hayward never left the corner, never got the ball, and certainly never had a play run for him. While I watched, Marcus Smart launched multiple 3's, while Hayward just stood around. He was not involved/integrated into the offense, and when he did get it, he was looking more to pass than to shoot, all the while, everyone else appeared to be looking to shoot.
At some point, it's gotta be getting to him, realizing that he's the odd man out in Boston (his teammates rarely seem to look for him) and not at all integral to their offense, playing relatively few minutes, and not regularly playing in crunch time (Marcus Smart, for heaven's sake, is playing over him). He doesn't show it outwardly, but internally, he has to be unhappy with how things turned out (while realizing the situation would have been much different if he stayed). I am wondering at what point he begins to express outward displeasure with his role, either body language or public statements. He's heading for a breaking point, I think, if things don't turn around.
I won't be surprised at all if he's moved in the summer, either at his request, or because Boston/Ainge decide to cut their losses realizing he's not who they thought he was and not integral to their plans.

If you look at Gordo's rebound, assist and steal percentages this year, they're fairly comparable to what he was doing in Utah. The glaringly obvious problem is that he doesn't fit in their offense - especially with Kyrie on the floor, with whom he appears to have a severe disconnect.

It's more than that. When Kyrie wasn't in the game last night, Hayward stood in the corner while Brown, Tatum, & Rozier took turns dominating the ball. Not one looked Hayward's way, let alone passed to him. He was totally uninvolved in the offense on numerous possessions.

What team wants to wait for a player to decide what they want to do with the ball, call a play for the player to drive to the basket, see the player telegraph a mid range jumper, only to watch him hold it, waive people off, then fake a drive, and take a mid range jumper as the clock expires?
This is what he did to the Jazz, why would the next team think it would be different if they gave him the ball and a "green" light?

I don't hate Hayward. Sure I was bummed when he left and even angry; but I've moved on. However, there is a little bit of me that gets some joy out of seeing him struggle, and more importantly, knowing Boston is stuck with a guy that doesn't look very good and has a max contract.
I've seen it mentioned here that he is likely to be traded this offseason. My question is, who would want him at his current ability/contract? We all know Ainge is super stingy with draft picks, so he isn't going to do a salary dump and give up any assets. So who would realistically give up players/picks for a soon to be 29 year old swing man, coming off an awful injury and having one of the worst seasons of his career?
Charlotte comes to mind actually haha, totally can see that.
But I don't see Boston trading him, his value is so low right now; at least wait and see if he improves next season. I mean he is coming off that awful injury and it takes time. Paul George played way better his first year back, but they aren't the same player.
