Looking at OKC's schedule, I expect the Jazz to pass them in the standings soon. Right now, 538 predicts all four teams -- Houston, Portland, Utah and OKC -- will end up with 51 wins. Would be best to get to 52, get the 3rd seed and beat OKC in the first round.

There have been some great victories this season - the Celtics games come to mind - but none more important than that Milwaukee win. Game of the season IMO. Add that to the win against Denver and it may even be a turning point for the team if we don’t get unlucky with injuries. It might certainly be a turning point for Favors. Haven’t seen that kind of passion and aggressiveness from him in a while (maybe ever), and he’s looking leaner and meaner than ever before. And finally closing out a game. I guess he’s finally 100%? He could be a monster come playoff time.

It's actually just immature and entitled. The entitlement is fully ingrained in so many Lakers fans. They cannot fathom that they aren't just handed rings every year because it's just the natural order of things. I bet there was a surge in ER visits for heart attacks in the LA area when they failed to secure AD for a used napkin and some mentos.
 
538 is back to having us projected to go 50-32, tied with OKC for 5th. Portland/Houston are projected at 51-31. We lose the tiebreaker to OKC in that scenario but we end up in 6th. I think a 3-6 matchup with Portland would be fun and would probably go 7 games. It's crazy how close 3-6 are going to be.

If I could get that matchup and those seeds today I would totally take it and be happy.
I think we would best Portland. Then maybe beat Denver too.

Storylines with Lillard Weber State ties. Plus kanter and hood. Would be a fun series

Good situation if GSW ends up as the first seed. The best situation would be Jazz finishing second or first, that way we'd have an easy first round series. But realistically, 538's projection is just fine.
