What's new

Dante has been out forever because he ded

Point blank, Dante Exum has been a ****** basketball player. Paying him north of the MLE is an embarrassment at best.

Anyone: name me a player that has done less to earn as much or more than Dante Exum.

He has been injured. So missing games hurt him. But he has always been a very good defender when healthy. Defense is half the game. His offense is just flashes. Although he was starting to get consistent on offense right before the injuries.

His contract is easily tradeable and was a great option at the time. I wish they had got the 4th year on there as a team option.

The apex of his career was not getting called for fouls against Harden in a 5-game series. He’s a good one-on-one defender, can we consider his history of blowing rotations and losing his guy off the ball?

That is really beside the point anyway: I’m not paying anyone as bad at offense (let alone as injury prone) to play strictly perimeter defense unless they are some sort of god at that. Exum isn’t.

And how is Rxum’s injury history in any way a benefit? We had four years of data on this.

This is like kicking a dead horse. Exum in no way affects the Jazz' success in games.

The biggest "addition" in free agency next year won't be getting a healthy Exum. It will be the subtraction of Bricky. I dont care WHO the Jazz play alongside Mitchell. Bring in another PG. Or bring in a SG and have Mitchell play PG. I just cant bear anymore of the greasy-haired brick layer.

Oh, you mean players that are better than Exum? And aren’t under contract for two more seasons (in cap space years)? You failed spectacularly to make your point.
Exum, despite the injuries, has still played over 100 more minutes than Thabo and Udoh combined. Stop saying dumb stuff.

I'm disappointed in Exum's injuries, but it's not like Exum took the money from some other target this year. Now if he does this next year when his salary actually fills cap space, you might end up with a better argument against him.

This might be a tad harsh.

Rxum was developing a good drive and dish talent. One of my favorite lineups this year was Dante with Joe and Korver paired with Favs and anyone else. He still has the same potential he has always had.

He is also a sunk cost. We have invested a bunch of time and money in him already, we are not getting that back. And apparently we are not going to trade him. So we have two more years to bash him, or just get behind him and cheer the Zombie on.

So he's Jean Grey? Will he come back as a Phoenix, or will he just come back in Phoenix?

Like Gandolf and Harry Potter (I think he died or almost died... I didn't really watch all those movies).

I watched that stupid Umbrella Academy... I won't spoil it for those of you that would like to waste their time watching it. It is just plot-cheating imo.
