A Place for Conservatives

Hey genius that's literally what the DOJ does for all cases that aren't prosecuted. The FBI does not charge people, they investigate and report their findings to the DOJ and they make a determination whether or not to prosecute. That's how it has always worked. Honestly, you guys make this **** too ****ing easy.

I understand your media of choice has led you to believe there is something scandalous here, but I think you should know they are lying to you.
She claimed there was no bias and simultaneously admitted that the Obama Justice Dept. instructed them not to pursue charges of Gross Negligence. That's crazy!

The exoneration was written long before the key players were questioned. The original statement used the term Gross Negligence, but top FBI officials changed it to Extreme Carelessness. How could it be any more obvious what was going on? Strozck and Page talked about an insurance policy that was discussed in Andy's office. Andy McCabe has now bragged (as part of his book tour) that he rushed to open an investigation because of the threat he believed that Trump posed to the country. How could it be any more obvious that the Russia Investigation was the insurance policy? He also suggested that they were attempting to invoke the 25th Ammendment. Is there anyone who believes that government bureaucrats ought to be up to crap like this?

FBI and DOJ lied to the FISC Court using documents and evidence they knew was uncorroborated. Even the author of that evidence was unwilling to stand behind it. That is what this so called investigation, and more accurately called insurance policy, was based upon. The warrant to record Papadopoulos was based on supposed claims made by an Australian diplomat which are not corroborated by that same diplomats story in the Australian press.

But Trump haters dislike him so badly that they don't really care whether the charges against him are legitimate or not. They just want him gone no matter what the cost. And now it's looking more and more like Trump's claims of a witch hunt are going to be backed up by the actual evidence that Muller has been able to collect.

So is that enough to but this issue to bed? Of course not! Now the Dem lead House is opening investigations into everything they can possibly think of related to Trump going back decades. At what point will the public decide that this entire episode is more a political hit job than an actual investigation?

Of course Page and others claim there was no bias involved, but the actions of all of the key characters scream otherwise. In the Hillary investigation virtually everyone was given immunity (even when they were caught in obvious lies or when it was discovered that they blatantly destroyed evidence). In the Trump investigation a litany of unrelated charges are brought and everyone who won't turn on Trump is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The differences in treatment are stark and obvious to anyone willing to watch what's going on with their eyes open.

If you are right then we are in for a world of hurt because it means the pendulum is going so swing even more wildly than before. That said, I completely disagree with everything about your last sentence.

Good, may the pendulum swing until something meaningful actually gives..

I believe in truth. I am more of a libertarian than anything else. What do you see the world becoming Alfalfa? What is this world you foresee that is passing me by? I am actually curious.

Okay, I guess I'll give you an honest response, knowing that it's going no where.

I've met actual libertarians. Real ones who studied the philosophy and thought about it/discussed it for a long time. They're usually indifferent to religion, and they foresee the freedom given to individuals as a vehicle for massive change. They're pro transformation and change, and they don't want the government to stand in the way. They don't care about abortion, sexual orientation, or anything like that, and they wouldn't want the government to have the power to interfere with such personal decisions.

You're not a libertarian. You're a mainstream religious conservative. Like the Tea Party. Ya, you like to label yourselves libertarian, but ultimately, you want smaller government because you don't like what you perceive as the direction the government is taking us in. You're a traditionalist.

That's all fine and good. What's not good, is your hostility toward some things that you don't seem to understand at all. Statements like "liberalism failed wherever it was tried". The fact you can type that with a straight face indicates that you have no idea what liberalism even is! Liberalism has been tried and failed?! lmao. Liberalism is the basis upon which the entire Western Civilization stands! You're using the word the way Fox News uses it. Without meaning! Same with socialism or capitalism. Your incredibly simple minded statements about them boggle the mind. There's no "capitalism is good, and socialism is bad" for adult society! The world doesn't work like that. Do you know what a mixed economy is? If you're gonna be a douche, be an educated one, man.

Heathme, I don't know about how much will be cut by the plans to reduce carbon emissions, but many scientists believe it is already too late and we already have passed the tipping point. I think that it's debatable, still. But to say that Global Warming is not an existential threat to mankind is pure ignorance. There is so much evidence out there. For example, go to Professor Jem Bendell's website and you will see the concern that is being expressed by scientists around the world. Don't believe the claptrack of that ultimate ignoramus, DDT. Or watch some of the many videos about the melting of the polar ice caps. The arctic is now navigable. Just go on YouTube and you can see the evidence for your very eyes. And everyone knows the planet is warming. Ocean temperatures are the highest in millions of year, 17 of the highest 18 hottest annual global temperatures on record have occurred during the last 17 years. And of the extreme hurricanes and tornados and fires that are occurring world wide -- this caused by the currents caused by the warming of the ocean. No, it's a fraud, says DDT, a money-making scheme. OMG, what an ignorant fool.

I appreciate your respectful response. It has become rare around here.

What about the evidence that the polar ice caps are growing? https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddar...ns-of-antarctic-ice-sheet-greater-than-losses

What about the exact same weather patterns happening in the early 1900s?

Our climate is constantly changing and shifting. We have had a long period without sun spots that is affecting our weather. Our earth is billions of years old, yet scientist think they can know what happened 200+ years ago and before.

What about Al Gore's predictions that the east coast would be underwater a few years ago? Computer models are faulty at best. You do realize how rich global warming has made Al Gore right?

I've met actual libertarians. Real ones who studied the philosophy and thought about it/discussed it for a long time. (this is a typical liberal defense. Do you really think I am going to post 3 page essays I have written on history to defend myself against your snide remarks? I have time to post articles that state my case. That is all the time I am going to give it. I have also discussed philosophy and "thought for a long time" but do not have the time to give long treatises on each and every issue you guys bring up. If you do not read the articles then we will never understand each other. This was Bawse Dog's issue. He did not read a thing I posted, kept saying I did not post anything and then called me an idiot for saying nothing) They're usually indifferent to religion (now I can see where we disagree most. You appear to believe that believing in God makes you ignorant and stupid. Is that accurate?), and they foresee the freedom given to individuals as a vehicle for massive change. (I cannot disagree with this more. I believe the Constitution is an inspired document that has served our country amazingly for 240+ years. There is no need for a "vehicle for massive change". We have the most free and prosperous country in the world. Why do you think everyone wants to come here?? They are not fleeing to Venezuela.) They're pro transformation and change, and they don't want the government to stand in the way. (I agree with the statement that they don't want the government to stand in the way) They don't care about abortion, sexual orientation, or anything like that, and they wouldn't want the government to have the power to interfere with such personal decisions. (To each his own on sexual orientation. I am definitely a conservative liberal when it comes to abortion however. If you actually believe in science, then you know that a human being is created at conception. Killing that human being is murder. The only exception should be rape, incest or life of the mother.)

You're not a libertarian. You're a mainstream religious conservative. Like the Tea Party. Ya, you like to label yourselves libertarian, but ultimately, you want smaller government because you don't like what you perceive as the direction the government is taking us in. You're a traditionalist. (Traditionalist works for me.)

The fact you can type that with a straight face indicates that you have no idea what liberalism even is! (I know what classic liberalism is and if you had read my post earlier you would have seen the article I posted on the differences. I use liberalism as it is used today because that is what 99% of this website understands.) Liberalism has been tried and failed?! lmao. Liberalism is the basis on which the entire Western Civilization stands upon! You're using the word the way Fox News uses it. Without meaning! Same with socialism or capitalism. Wow, even NASA contradicts itself... The world is BILLIONS of years old. We have been keeping track of data for maybe 200 years of that.

For being such "open-minded liberals" you guys sure are dogmatic on your global warming. How about an easy question? The scientific consensus in the 70s was that the Earth was entering an immediate ice age. Is there any chance that scientists may be off now too? I know your answer already. Is there any room for skepticism in you guys?

Good ****ing christ. You can not be this thick.

I guess the answer is no?

Zombie, you're not used to having people question your beliefs are you?

The scientific consensus in the 70s was that the Earth was entering an immediate ice age.

That was absolutely NO the scientific consensus in the 70s. There was ZERO scientific consensus on global warming, global cooling, or global stasis (no trend) in the 70s. You need to discern alarmist media reports (if it bleeds it leads) from real scientific studies. Do some research that is not based on validating your bias. Let me get you started.

You make a great point about what being an actual libertarian means. It’s no surprise therefore that there is some common ground with what’s perceived as the far left, as crazy as that may sound, in terms of the role that the government should play in our lives. I find there to be much common ground in terms of foreign policy as well.

Also I think that some have a different view from others on the meaning of left and right in politics, I guess depending on their sources of information.
