What's new

Gamethread: Jazz @ Suns. 8 PST

Look I don't really care. If a player is playing like **** then it's fine to talk about the player playing like ****. I don't give a **** about salaries or whatever. If a player is always hurt them it's ok to talk about how he is always hurt regardless of salary situation. No one has to wait until the date you decide on for it to be ok to discuss.

Come down from your high horse bro

What high horse? Don't do that. I never said anybody was above criticism. But for a game thread where we won the game gets overrun by bashing of a guy who played 10 minutes while coming back from a significant injury is pretty freaking stupid.

Criticize all you want, but if somebody else says Exum got in the way of other additions, they are flat out wrong.

Thabo is an obviously better player than Exum. He’s also on his last legs as a player. Says a lot about Exum that someone is desperate to positively compare him to an old player coming off a significant knee injury and can’t even make the case.

Thabo is not a better player than Exum. Consistent? Sure. Healthier? No. Weed free? No.

Right now, they are equally terrible and irrelevant. Once Exum gets back to how he was playing in late December (or even close to that level), he is providing more than Thabo.

I'm not even an Exum homer which makes it crazy that I have to fend off the hate that some of you guys just have to unload on somebody.

Conley didn’t want to play in Utah. I don’t care what he said after his agent had let that out. He didn’t want to be here and it was a good choice not to force the issue, especially at the cost. I think now we have to use Exum where we can and maximize whatever value he has, realizing we made a mistake. It’s a sunk cost at this point, but maybe somewhere down the line his defense helps in a particular situation or gets back to attacking against teams that can be exploited there. Time to bite the bullet and try to make the best of it.

There is still a glimmer of hope, but the crowd that sits there and says he should be allowed to play through his garbage play and he'd be good if he could play a ton of minutes (like garbage) need to sit down. Now ain't the time for that. If he was okay or just kinda bad then fine... but he was really bad at one point in the game there and wasn't doing anything else mildly productive.
His "best play" during his 2-minute stint to start the 4th was when he brought the ball up and passed it a millisecond before tripping over someone's shoe lace and doing a faceplant. What made it his "best play" was that his miscue didn't screw up the possession.

I use to complain about the short leash Quin gave Exum, but last night we were in a tight game with the worst team in the NBA. Two more minutes of Exum and the tide would have completely turned in favor of the Suns.

You said this same **** in the last game when he played horrible and we lost though as well bro.

And overrun? Lol. You are too sensitive about this I think if you feel the thread was overrun by negative Dante comments in a game where his 10 minutes were literally as bad as anyone could possibly play.

How many posts are in this thread 300 plus? How many are bashing Dante? Overrun lol

Weed free? Lol you are really reaching now. How do you how much weed Dante does or doesn't smoke?

They are not equally terrible and irrelevant. One came in and did his job and helped the team get a win last night. The other didn't.

If Dante is smoking weed we all have to agree it's medicinal, or at very least preventative medicine for the next injury! (I bet they smoke some really good stuff with their financial means)

Having a bad day fish?

Yep, Exum hasn't looked great in his two games back from a long injury. He deserves to be criticized for playing poorly.

I'm just so happy that we have Thabo to provide so much to us over the season. http://www.espn.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/3028/thabo-sefolosha

dante should clearly be getting some time to rehab both physically and mentally with the stars. makes no sense to try and play him right now with the A team if he's going to get yanked after a couple minutes. he won't be able to get his legs/timing back at all, and he already hd major issues when healthy.

Why is thabo even a part of the discussion of Dantes bad play.

Look it's really simple. Dante play bad, Dante get criticized. Same as every one else.

Thabo has been one of our most consistent shooters. His defense is not what it used to be but he’s disruptive still. He doesn’t eff up though... and that is important... Exum provided a pile of meh and some eff ups.

IF he can stay healthy long enough we know Exum is much better than what he has showed... it was just disappointing he couldn’t give us something against a team like Phoenix.

Like I said before... prove us wrong. He has legitimate excuses for having rust but he is always shaking off the rust or the team can’t play him because we are trying to win now or (insert other excuse). 5 years and we don’t think we know what we have... but maybe we do and we are ignoring it.

A Neto level pg that could actually stay healthy would provide a world of help... we don’t go find that guy though because we have Dante and Ricky... Ricky showed some huge flashes last year but it’s time to move on after this season.

So here we are... looking for the pg of the future and present...

No **** Sherlock. Hell no it isn't same as everyone else. That's my entire point.

Thabo was a comparison for all those people saying Exum was wasted money. Thabo production < Exum production although Jazzfanz Childlike Crying Over Exum >>>>>>>>>> Any Questioning of Thabo.

I also enjoy the... if he sucks next year then trade his ***... what team will want him... his only value in a trade is based on mystery and intrigue. If you remove that and replace it with "yeah this guy definitely isn't good or definitely is injury prone" then he's $10M of dead salary and a wasted roster spot.

There is still a glimmer of hope, but the crowd that sits there and says he should be allowed to play through his garbage play and he'd be good if he could play a ton of minutes (like garbage) need to sit down. We are so much better when Neto plays the point right now... wanna talk about fair? That MFer always shows up ready to play and executes what is needed on the court... even though he doesn't have the physical attributes that might allow him to be awesome... that dude deserves to play when healthy. He doesn't play scared he plays ready. Dante didn't look focused or ready... had no problem with them yanking him.
You are obviously seething with dumb hatred.

Any day dealing with people that actively, loudly, and proudly deny obvious reality isn’t the best. Well done.

Fish needs a snickers. Usually he doesn't come at me when all I'm trying to do is calm the pitchfork carrying keyboard warriors.

I know Exum has sucked in the two games back from injury. I also know Exum was excellent at times in December. I can be objective.

He needs a psychiatrist every time he rolls an ankle? Jesus Christ.

Fish is one of the best posters on this site. You are the most delusional poster on the board and you are usually the first to go ad hominem, so maybe you should pump the brakes.

Do me a favor and repeat where I've been wrong. I'd love for you to. So far I have said:

Exum has struggled
Exum played well before the injury
Stop crying about it

And for the record, I love fish and respect the heck out of him. Doesn't mean we always agree.

I guess I'm the most delusional poster on the board because I feel that we can have a forum without crybabies. You might be right there.

LoPo the criticism against Dante is more than fair considering his contract, and resources we have poured into his development.

It's just silly to compare him to Thabo.

Somehow Thabo put up as many win-shares last season, when he didn't even play half the games, as Exum has in his ENTIRE CAREER!
