Utah Jazz 2018-19 Championship Bus CHOO CHOO

What happens happens. First round, second round, it’s all a runner up to actually winning it.

We need more pieces. DM and Gobert is a great start, but need a third reliable piece vs. hoping Ingles or Crowder go off.

Hope isn’t a strategy. We know what this team can do and it’s not quite enough. Take some risks or we will be an eternal footnote in NBA history.
Agreed. "Flexibility" isn't a plan either unless it turns into assets.

Flexibility is turned into Kevin Love. And here's his flex-ability [we'll parlay that into a better regular season record]:

Yep.
If we lost last night could we have fell to 6th with another loss tonight?
Also, if we would have beat the lakers would hat have changed anything?

If we would have lost last night and again tonight and the Thunder beat the Bucks tonight I think we would have dropped to 6th. The only thing that would have changed had we beaten the Lakers is we would have clinched the 5th seed Sunday night instead of last night.

The fact that our 2nd-year stud couldn't lead our offense consistently enough (in the toughest Western Conference in memory) really does rub you raw? A 50-win season heading into an off-season with flexibility and all signs pointing up is not good?

Time to take a step back, it seems.

lol I wish yous all were here lowering expectations back in September and October ... you know, when people were actually pushing the idea the Jazz might be the second best team in the West.

Let's start writing up the excuses for next year when the Jazz inevitably finish fifth again...

The difference between 5th and 2nd is going to end up being about 3 games. Out of 82. That's a slim margin to get saddled with the analysis that the team **** the bed.

We RAN IT BACK in an improved conference... and won more games. Neither you nor I know what's about to happen in the playoffs. You're being a sour puss.

Portland with a big eff you to Denver... and kinda to us no? like if they are throwing this game they are picking us over OKC.
Yes... except they are also picking the Warriors over Denver/Houston for the 2nd round matchup (if they beat the Jazz). Which doesn't make a lot of sense.

that and Denver's record in close games is higher than normal... those things are fluky year over year.

Personally, I'm 100% in favor of the PERCEPTION that teams are picking us. We've been better all year when we've had a little extra "nasty" (Popovich, 2012).
1000% this is great for us... weaker opponent who called their shot... gives us the chip on the shoulder.

I thought I heard that they've lost 10 straight playoff games.... If that's true then they really gotta just try to get some playoff wins first before thinking about the 2nd round. If they really feel like OKC will destroy them (which it sounds like this year their games have gotten ugly) then even from a purely business standpoint you'd want at least a long 1st round series and a possible 2nd round regardless of who they'd play rather than a quick 5 ish game series against OKC.
