Nothing sadder than investing a ton of energy into something when the end result is the exact same as the last twenty years.. To me, that's sad. I'm perfectly okay accepting the current reality of this franchise.
Like I said, thank god.

If we get bounced in the first round, this season was a disappointment. And the disappointment started with a lackluster off-season followed by the extremely slow start.

After d-will left and Sloan left we were kinda screwed. Then we tanked. Then we rebuilt. Then right when we were getting closer to having the talent to get to the wcf again our lone all star left for browner pastures. We had to start building again and we amazingly were able to continue to make the playoffs. We are once again close to being able to make some noise in the playoffs but need another piece to take another step. Hopefully we get that piece in the off-season.

Oh you mean like how if the jazz were the 6th seed they would be going against a beatable Portland team and a nuggets team that they own and have a pretty good chance at the wcf?No. Continually finishing 5th in the WC, which positions yourself for a near-impossible second round match-up if you're lucky enough to get out of the first round, sucks.
One day the Jazz won't struggle for half the season and put together an effort that bumps 'em to the top-three and positions the team well for a playoff run. But that day isn't today. Until that happens, yeah, I'm going to express my disappointment and I don't really care if I have yours, or anyone's, approval to do it.
Or anywhere, ever for that matter?Oh you mean like how if the jazz were the 6th seed they would be going against a beatable Portland team and a nuggets team that they own and have a pretty good chance at the wcf?
There is a lot of luck involved in this stuff. And again, you expecting them to get the 3 seed or higher without an all star is your bad.
How many teams have got the 3 seed or better in the West with no all stars?

Vast majority thought they would have an all star or two so......Looking at the NBA predictions contest from back in October, it appears a vast majority of fans thought the Jazz would finish third or better, so...

Again, answer the question. How many teams have finished with the 3 seed or better in the West and zero all stars?

The talent is there to be a 5 seed. There is no question to answer because your premise actually correlates with the issue at hand - the Jazz were not a very good team for a huge chunk of the season and that played a role in the franchise not getting a player selected to represent the team at the All Star game. That snub directly plays into the disappointment of the overall season. Unless you're suggesting the Jazz don't have All Star talent, which would be ridiculous.
Is Nikola Jokic being selected to the All Star game, and playing only 13 minutes and scoring six points, the reason Denver got the two seed? No. Of course not. There are a handful of games the Jazz failed to show up for that defined the season and once again, it cost 'em a decent playoff position. The talent was there, the effort wasn't.
Ok. So how many teams with a 2nd year player as their leading scorer and not a single other player on the roster who are able to create their own shot have been 3 seeds or better? There is no question to answer because your premise actually correlates with the issue at hand - the Jazz were not a very good team for a huge chunk of the season and that played a role in the franchise not getting a player selected to represent the team at the All Star game. Lol at "the effort wasn't there"
One of the dumbest cliche's of all time.

This is funny because now it's you who's selling the idea the Jazz just isn't a very good team (they're just good) and likely have hit their ceiling. Good job at making a point I've claimed the last few days. I'm glad to see you're on board with the idea that this is probably the best we'll get from the Jazz. You know, a point you've derided over the last few days.
Wrong. I have always been selling the idea that the jazz are a very good to great team that isn't in the elite of the NBA. Right about the middle of the Western conference playoff type team. I'm happy about that. We still got lots of potential to improve in the coming years. You seem to be upset that they aren't better.
I'm happy with the team, their effort, and their season.
You think I think they have hit their ceiling? You say lots of dumb **** but that might take the cake.
Of course I think they are gonna get better. Quin is a young, good, up and coming coach. That Donovan Mitchell guy? 22 year old superstar in the making. Guys will want to play with him. Gobert? This is his best year so far. I expect him to continue to improve. Roster flexibility. Financial flexibility. A good GM. Good ownership.

Angry? You said I think the jazz have hit their celling. I was setting you straight on that.Finishing fifth isn't very good (and certainly not great). It's just good. I think the Jazz have been just good now for twenty years. Very good was 1996 when they got knocked out in seven in the WCF against Seattle. Great was the 1997-98 teams that made the NBA Finals. Good is making the playoffs but generally getting bounced in lopsided fashion by those same very good teams.
Alas, your continued personal insults don't make your argument any more valid. I am unsure why my view of the Jazz' potential being the exact same level of success we've experienced the last 20 years makes you so angry. It just confuses me that you obviously think my opinion is dumb as **** and yet you keep engaging in debates with me. If you're so convinced I've got no leg to stand on, or that what I'm saying is trash, why continue to debate me? That just seems like wasted energy.
How about this: let's rejoin this argument this time next year and see if the Jazz has elevated themselves above the 4/5 match-up?

We have different definitions of good and great. And I said the jazz are very good to great, as in the middle of the 2 adjectives.
You should go back into hiding rather than being a kill joy as the jazz are about to embark on the playoffs
