Gamethread: Game 1 of the 1st Round. Utah Jazz @ Houston Rockets. 7:30 MST

We did beat the Rockets twice during the regular season you know, once without Rudy.
Yep, they didn't have Rivers, Faried, Shumpert, or House at that point either. We beat them twice earlier in the year. The games we played later in the year we got spanked. Those guys are rotation players for them now. It's a different and better team.

Lemme make it very clear for y'all and i'd love to see a thorough refutation of just this;

The Dennis Lindsey Utah Jazz are to the playoffs, as the sheep is to the slaughterhouse.

Tell me i'm wrong..

I’ll straight up call ******** on that. All you post about is tearing this team down. You have not shown anything about wanting to win. Just bitching.

I’m calling you a liar. Straight up. This post is 100% BS based on your own post history. At least the history I’ve seen.

But, sure tell us more while you trash this team with every post.
Stating who I think will win a series or a game isn't trashing our team or the visiting team. It's just stating who I think will win. I've never said anything bad about how the organization is ran, or Quinn, or even Dennis. Sober up a little bit my friend.

Under your stewardship, this team’s Donovan would be Harrison Barnes and its Gobert would be Iman Shumpert.

You’re wrong

Anything else?

So the Jazz are the butchers of the slaughter house known as the playoffs? and The Warriors and Rockets and so on and so forth, they are the sheep?

That can't be right because last I check Utahs never survived the slaughterhouse known as the NBA playoffs, not even once in all these years..

That sounds like Lindsey's done his job... too bad it's just a fantasy. Perhaps there's fundamental issues? Perhaps Lindsey is concerned about being the prettiest looking sheep, so he can keep selling tickets and ******** to the fans, instead of figuring out how to be the butcher..??

This thread is a laugh a minute. Talk about pessimists. I'd hate to be playing on a team with you guys. Like Oster said, they won the second game last year, and the Rockets are sure to come out overconfident next game. If the Jazz come out fighting they will have a chance to steal game two.

Let’s ask the clippers and the thunder.

2-2. What now?

Dude, stop acting like you’re only being this way now. It’s been several seasons you’ve been this way.

You're wrong because the Jazz would beat any of the playoff teams in the West sans the Warriors and the Rockets. Portland with no Nurk makes Jazz favourites, and I don't think OKC are fully healthy right now so the Jazz have a good shot in that series too. Jazz win any other series fairly comfortably.

The Rockets are probably the worst matchup for the Jazz as currently constructed in the NBA and we were unlucky enough to pull them 1st round. The team is a hard capped 2nd round ceiling team but that's hardly "sheep to the slaughterhouse" level like the Pistons are to the Bucks in the East right now.

If my team ****ed up like Lindsey i'd step down and say im unfit for the job tho... I'd have been out years ago. Never would a purgatory situation arise under my leadership.

u got a smart answer for that too?

this guy out here navigating a ship in circles, while all inhabitants are aging, and your cheering him on, and im a jerk for pointing it out.

You said “Lindsey Jazz”. I guess I missed his involvement in anything before 2013.

But sure, ok.

The team hasn’t gotten better every year since he because GM or anything. In talent, coaching, infrastructure, player development, league perception...

Also, again, the jazz are 2-2 in the playoffs since Snyder.

But sure, let’s count one of those losses against perhaps the greatest team ever and the other against the MVP that year as typical sheep slaughter house losses.

I'm right. because SCREW THIS YEAR you are lacking vision if you're concerned about this year, same boat as Lindsey --- it's not about this year and the jazz are simply too stupid to realize this.. their like a fighter that doesnt know when their beat... IF the Jazz beat the rockets and the warriors and represented the west they'd get demolished by Milwaukee in the finals. there is not a snowflakes chance in hell they advance deep, this is whats called an exercise in futility.

If the Jazz beat the Warriors and Houston they’d stand “a chance” against the Bucks lol

But no, they aren’t making it that far. I want this Houston series win though damnit!!!

We lack the talent offensively. It's so obvious. How many times does it need to hit us over the head to acknowledge it? Band-aids and smoke and mirrors will somewhat work for low intensity games in the regular season. It doesn't work against a locked in AND talented team in the playoffs. To me it's still shocking we are this good in the regular season when we have ONE SINGLE player who can create anything off the dribble.

Relative to who tho (other pretenders perhaps:p???) Lets use brooklyn as a counterpoint... Brooklyn is in a similar position as utah now, with a younger core and Utah had fistfuls of lotto picks at their disposal they didnt.

So i mean compared to brooklyn i'd say Utah hasn't done **** really.. and i mean they were a 20 win team 2 years ago when the jazz were "getting playoff experience"..

Bad loss. But their defense wasnt that good. We just missed a lot of shots. You cant shoot 25% from 3 and 39% from the field and expect to win.

We will at least get back to our averages.

You think Utah could beat the Bucks in a 7 game series?? Lemme ask you point blank --- how many Bucks games have you seen this year to draw that conclusion from? c'mon, out with it. expose yourself.

this is perfectly what im talking about Lindsey gets a pass here because too many people exist in a utah jazz only NBA bubble, in a wider scope you can see the mediocrity. The nature of the threat is whats not understood here. IT seems after all these losing years that fans still can't really grasp the true difficulty of whats presented in they playoffs..

You say this as if DL has gone all in on his roster this year when the reality is that the Jazz have some fantastic cap flexibility, have two young stars in Mitchell and Gobert, and he didn't pull the trigger on a Conley deal because they felt for one reason or another that Conley wasn't enough to put this team over the top.

Seems like the only one who's getting bent out of shape over the team losing to their worst matchup in the NBA in Game 1 of a 1st round series is you. The players who are still on the roster come next season get valuable playoff experience, and DL gets a series against one of the elite teams in the NBA to work out who should stay and what they need to pursue in the offseason. We'd all like the Jazz to win the championship every season but you'd be hard pressed to find enough fans here who legitimately thought the Jazz were competing for a title this year heading into these playoffs to count on one hand.
