What's new

Quin has lost his mind

What would a stretch 4 do? This is an ignorant use of over used buzz words. What really will a 4 who can shoot threes do? Ignorance seriously.

I hope you are kidding. When Crowder and Favors, our power forwards, (I won't call them stretch 4s to avoid offending your delicate sensibility), can't shoot 3s consistently, but they often camp on the perimeter/corner as part of the designed offense, which is designed to drive and kick, the 4's defender can drop in to help, negating our penetrating players ability to score, negating the effectiveness of the sets. I am not saying the Jazz need a 4 that can shoot to win or be effective. I am stating that the sets Quin runs won't work well without a 4 that can shoot. And I am saying that Quin continues to try and pound a rectangle into a round hole.

I don't mind Quin experimenting and trying new things. We were never going to win this series no matter what we did. Unless the team played at a level we haven't seen them perform at all year. So... I don't get what the big deal is.

Ingles looks completely lost. Is he really just fool's gold? All his craftiness and his shot are just gone.

Tell me who is the stretch 4 we can get to fix this?

Ingles is trash already said it. If he is guarded he is worthless. He can get into the heads of offensive players. But, doesn't seem to want to do it this series.

I'm not calling him trash but he definitely seems checked out in this series.

Houston is living rent free in every single one of our guys heads.

If you focus on Ingles you shut him down. During the regular season he can sneak up on teams. He would be a great sixth man. I believe O'Neal is better than Ingles. I still want him on the team. But, in his place on the bench.

Seriously, did you read my posts above? I'm saying we have personnel to be successful, but not with the sets we run. There are a handful of players that we could have had, and may still be able to get, like Mirotic, Marcus Morris...

Let's look at the performance by players Lindsey has acquired over the past few years:

Allen is ****
Bradley is ****
Neto is ****
Korver is ****
Thabo is ****
Udoh is ****
Exum is ****
Niang is ****

That's more than half the roster. Sure Rubio, Mitchell and Gobert have underperformed, but can you tell me what other GM has filled his roster with so many scrubs? And you tell me I'm wrong about Lindsey. That he's one of the best GM's in the league. That's complete bull ****. Lindsey needs to be fired.

How do you explain away our 50 win season then?

We're just getting beat by a superior team is all. It's pretty simple.

Only 8 teams reached 50 wins out of 30 teams! We're one of them. That's something to be proud of. Not complacent with, but proud of. Build off of that.

They've been building around Harden for 5 years people! It takes time. We're only 2 years into our rebuild. Be proud!

Agreed that we should be playing a different offense with our players we have on the roster. Maybe Mirotic I'll give you him. Maybe Gallinari. That is all.

And why quin is so concerned with stopping harden is beyond me. You not gonna stop anybody if your entire defensive scheme is centered around stoping the most unstoppable player in this league. Let Harden drop 70 or 80 points if he could, do not rotate/leave your defenders to help cover Harden. It's opening his passing lane and not gonna work. If we can limit everyone else to under 40 points we’d have a better chance of winning.

Exactly this.

And every time he drives the lane, PUT HIM ON HIS ***!!!

I just remember a stat I saw a while back that took all the best treated and best players in NBA history. Guys like Karl Malone, Jordon, Kobe, LeBron, etc and they compared them to harden looking at free throw attempts in a ratio to field goals made. All the non harden players had thousands more field goals made
David Locke said a few days ago that over the past summer coach snyder was "focused" and "had developed" a plan to stop Houston. Lmao. Snyder is worshiped by the local media. The SLC sports media is so soft on its teams... Other cities are absolutely ruthless toward their teams if they suck.

Its sickening. These journos have no backbone.

Neg.

I wouldn't say every aspect.
Reggie had 10 seasons when he shot over 40% from three. Harden has zero so far.

And ya mj was treated good by the officials but no where near as good as harden. Harden is treated better by the officials than anyone in NBA history and it isn't close.

I agree with your general point though. That harden is amazing.

To echo your point on Harden being treated by the officials better than anyone in NBA history...He has attempted more free throws than field goals in his career. Yes, that is not a typo or a mistake.
He has taken 6,536 free throw attempts
He has taken 5499 field goal attempts

Choosing to focus your complaints against Allen after this game strikes me as a bit strange. He had 9 points on 5 shots and was +2 in 10 minutes. Allen isn't the reason Crowder is like 2-13 from 3 this series, or why Ingles has disappeared, or why Mitchell can't get untracked.

don't even bother trying to be reasonable w/ him regarding allen. him, jom2003, jack strop, and a few others would find a way to hate grayson if he cured cancer while scoring 50 and hitting the game winning shot in the nba finals.
