What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

Hopefully Donovan can turn our fortunes in the off-season by recruiting some big names. I think Crowder will try and help too, he might get traded though...

If they moved Jae I think it would have to be either to move up in the draft because there was someone they really liked... or if they needed the extra space because we got a max guy or we got a max guy and could use him to address other needs.

So I think it would have to be something good to move Jae... which would mean good things for the team.

Jae bleeds Utah so I hope he stays.

I agree. I don't see why we trade a guy who makes that fair of a contract (less than $8 million) who plays positions where you need waves of good players (SF and PF), who can shoot the 3, and loves being a member of the Utah Jazz.

I think the trade candidates are:

Korver: if we feel like he wants to hang it up and retire. He could get us pretty decent value since the other team can waive him to save $4 million

Bradley: as a throw in

Niang: primarily as a throw in, maybe because he looks like decent value, maybe because his contract isn't guaranteed

Neto: expiring $2 million deal might be needed for a bigger deal

Grayson: highly, highly doubtful but maybe there is some team who loves him

Favors: we would only trade him for some monster draft day deal. I still doubt he is made available

I like Jae but I'd have no problem with him being dealt. I like the toughness he brings but he's just not a good shooter and never will be, not very good at finishing at the rim either. If we could upgrade him with a better stretch 4 I think it would help out a lot.

Jae's 3 pt shooting bleeds Utah

Guess most don't agree with your comment. Truth is Jae has some shooting woes but hits some but has heart and hustle that defines a Utah Jazz man. He wears our jersey with pride and is a great ambassador for our Utah Jazz franchise.

Nah, we move Jae to free up salary to set aside for Exum retention in 2021.

Also, I originally typed 2921. That too.

Lol “has some shooting woes”. Truth is he’s one of the worst high volume shooters in the NBA

I do like the guy tho, just wish we didn’t need him to shoot so much

I think you hit the nail on the head with wish we didn't need him to shoot so much. I think because we depend on him so much he has to chuck them up.

I hope he sticks around though. He is a great Jazz man.

Maybe...

In Jordan's 3rd year, he averaged 37 points per game but still didn't win a playoff series. Donovan would have to have a monster 3rd season to keep up with or be ahead of MJ. If DM averaged around 30 points per game and won a playoff series or two, I would say that Donovan had a better first 3 years in the league than MJ if that were to happen.
U have rocks in your head

Breaking Nues: Gordon H. is available for scraps/
What if there were a player who had been at an all-star level, is a pretty good shooter and is capable of giving you 20 pts/per. He's in a bad situation because he's the 4th option, but would thrive in Quin's system where he'd be able to utilize multiple screens to get open looks. And his team is looking to bring in AD and NO may just want assets to help their rebuild. If his name weren't Gordon Hayward, he'd be a great acquisition.

Gordon was made for Quin's system. It's a shame he couldn't see that.
