What's new

You're the GM this offseason. What do you do?

I am listening to the Salt City Hoops podcast and Andy Larsen is saying there is REAL chance the Jazz are in play for Tobias Harris. He underlined it several times that there is interest both ways.
Isnt this whole thing stemming from Tobias Harris being a brand supporter for some blender company in Utah?

No they are saying something about Quin and Harris having good relationship and respect for eachother or something of that sort. They didn't say anything about a blender company...

How the hell do they even know each other?

I just know that Harris is the brand ambassador for Blendtec, a Utah based blender company.

There has been enough smoke from reputable sources to think it is more than just ancillary interest. I think we have worked some back channels. DM is also the type that would recruit. Tony Jones consistently saying we have a realistic shot is something to pay attention to... he does not like speculating much and is not a homer at all. He seems well connected and respected too... has broken a lot of news for a local guy... when he says stuff I listen.

****, you're right. For some reason I thought Phoenix and Chicago had max space.

Maybe you're right about him being had for under the max.

If we weren't worried about the Nets then I think there is a chance we are somewhat bidding against ourselves a bit... would maybe get him in the 20-22 range? IDK? I would feel a lot better with him on $22M per year than I would with him at $27M+ per year.

The Pacers could free up space easily and get him. I'm sure there is another team or two as well, maybe more depending on what happens with the other big stars.

Yeah, the Pacers are a candidate for him too. I listen to a bit of Indiana sports radio/podcasts and he's one that they bring up regularly as an option in the summer.
