What do you consider a "failed" offseason for the Jazz?

I think for him to step forward is to master that mid-range shot like CJ McCollum because he can get that whenever he wants, and it will open things up for him to get higher percentage shots from 3.

Asking, expecting, or demanding Mitchell to carry the burden better than he does is unrealistic and really unfair.

This team is really cool, but what they bring to the basketball court is quite mediocre outside of Mitchell and Gobert (and he isn't a player you can ask to do anything on offense but pick the lowest-hanging fruit). Both of those pieces would do well if we had a third serious piece.

Furthermore, on the topic of boldness; In those two moves combined, the Jazz traded one player on the roster who didn't want to be here.

The three rotation players Lindsey has traded since he's been here have all either publicly stated or made it clear otherwise that they didn't want to be here. Getting rid of players that are causing team-chemistry issues by doing their bidding isn't bold.

They went from out of the playoffs to the second-round and that was the biggest move they made.

It turned out pretty well. Especially since the Jazz could’ve ended up with another Tony Bradley.

They didn't make it to the second round of the playoffs because of Hill though. He missed like half of the season and was a complete non-factor in the playoffs.

They should have traded that lottery pick for a future draft pick/assets. Not for half a season of George Hill who in the grand scheme of things didn't provide much. I said it way back then. We did not get value for the asset.

Joe freakin Johnson was the biggest pickup for that team btw.

Hill was huge for us. Even with all of the games he missed, he was worth six wins that year according to win shares. Without looking at win shares; this team had **** at that position without him and it's a shame how often we had to play without him. His +/- was fantastic, and his PER was that of borderline all-star, saying nothing of the raw box score stats.

He sat out the GSW series, but the Jazz both don't make the playoffs without Hill and they don't win that Clippers series without him.

Lastly, whether Hill or Johnson weren't great additions for us isn't mutually exclusive. They were both great additions.

That's what I came here to say. I can accept all realistic outcomes if it's plainly evident the Jazz showed some boldness in trying to improve this team, because the one we have now has an obvious ceiling on it.

Agreed. And we crashed hard into that ceiling this post-season.
