What do you consider a "failed" offseason for the Jazz?

Passing up good shots (by good shooters) for better shots (by bad shooters).

They didn't make it to the second round of the playoffs because of Hill though. He missed like half of the season and was a complete non-factor in the playoffs.

They should have traded that lottery pick for a future draft pick/assets. Not for half a season of George Hill who in the grand scheme of things didn't provide much. I said it way back then. We did not get value for the asset.

Joe freakin Johnson was the biggest pickup for that team btw.

Hill was huge for us. Even with all of the games he missed, he was worth six wins that year according to win shares. Without looking at win shares; this team had **** at that position without him and it's a shame how often we had to play without him. His +/- was fantastic, and his PER was that of borderline all-star, saying nothing of the raw box score stats.

He sat out the GSW series, but the Jazz both don't make the playoffs without Hill and they don't win that Clippers series without him.

Lastly, whether Hill or Johnson weren't great additions for us isn't mutually exclusive. They were both great additions.
 
Failed off-season = no attempt at major moves. I'd rather see us swinging for the fences and end up in the lottery than just roll it back again. ****ing do something.

That's what I came here to say. I can accept all realistic outcomes if it's plainly evident the Jazz showed some boldness in trying to improve this team, because the one we have now has an obvious ceiling on it.

Agreed. And we crashed hard into that ceiling this post-season.
