You could say this exact thing about Favors. Why the hell would we trade anyone for Love? We can pick up a better option in FA for a fraction of the cost.

He might be the best hope, but with the offcourt stuff I'd be fairly surprised if the Jazz drafted him (involved in a couple of lawsuits for filming and sharing sex)

I listed a bunch of them. You didn’t like them as much, though. You could, but you would be wrong. Plus the fact that Favors can be waived up until July 5th if we find a better option. Plus only has 1 year left after that and is much less for that 1 year.
Who is this player as good as Favors that is less?
We can waive him 6/30 at 6pm right when moratorium starts. We can re-sign him first thing when moratorium lifts July 6.
No team is going to pick up his option when none of the free agents have officially signed.
Boston won't spend $17.7 million when other options are still out there. Horford might not even know his destination 48 hours into free agency.
The Lakers aren't gonna spend $17.7 million of their $24 million on a bench player. C'mon man.
The Clippers might, but why? They want big targets not some guy who is gonna be a role player for starter money.
Sacramento won't pick up Favors over keeping Cauley-Stein. $17.7 for a back up? No.
Atlanta? Why would they? Dallas? They are going for Beverley, Horford, Randle, longer term options not bandaids.
Nobody is going to pick him up before free agent dominoes fall.

Championship experience.
No, the waive happens within the moratorium but can't be complete until moratorium is over. So we could waive him on July 4 with the hope that he clears on July 6 right when moratorium lifts. http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q105The two waiver days don’t start until after the moratorium but whatevs man...
Okay, he has that. I am not sure it matters or helps, but he does have that. Is that worth 120 million over 4 years?
