Conley Officially a Jazzman

More likely than not that player doesn't exist.

Jalen McDaniels.

21.5 yo
Really long. Really athletic. Mid 70’s from the line. Improved his 3% a lot last year. Really solid handle and vision at his size. I love small school kids as I think they enter with a far bigger urgency and chip on their shoulder.

That’s my guy. Love this kid.

He could be our Siakam.

He might be the best hope, but with the offcourt stuff I'd be fairly surprised if the Jazz drafted him (involved in a couple of lawsuits for filming and sharing sex)

Damn, he looks sick.

I understand the numbers. If we waive him, we still have the cap to sign him up to around $16 million. In my mind, anything we sign him to that's below $17.7 is a win. Go ahead and lock him up a few years but making substantially less.

Our depth desperately needs more than a $4.7 room exception and minimum contracts.

If we tell Favors we are waiving him with the expectation to sign him to a long term deal, he'll understand we are trying to do right by him. If somebody picks him up at $17.7, which I don't think any team will, then we change plans.

Just adding Conley and keeping Favors is not enough. We must do more.

Sweet so when someone claims him and we waited until July 8th to find out then we will have a ton of free agents to chose from.

I’ll bet someone will pick him up... Boston Dallas LA teams won’t all use their space and have a need... Sacramento too.

Either you keep him or waive him... all there is too it... the fairy tale waive and re-sign him is pretty damn silly.

Mitchell is a solid defender. Russell wasnt good but he looked better in the playoffs and I think he can be a decent one.

But its a moot point now. We have Conley a player I really like and I think we will be much improved.

Although we still need to make some moves.

Mitchell can be a good defender, but overall, he hasn't been one.

We can waive him 6/30 at 6pm right when moratorium starts. We can re-sign him first thing when moratorium lifts July 6.

No team is going to pick up his option when none of the free agents have officially signed.

Boston won't spend $17.7 million when other options are still out there. Horford might not even know his destination 48 hours into free agency.

The Lakers aren't gonna spend $17.7 million of their $24 million on a bench player. C'mon man.

The Clippers might, but why? They want big targets not some guy who is gonna be a role player for starter money.

Sacramento won't pick up Favors over keeping Cauley-Stein. $17.7 for a back up? No.

Atlanta? Why would they? Dallas? They are going for Beverley, Horford, Randle, longer term options not bandaids.

Nobody is going to pick him up before free agent dominoes fall.

Against the Knicks who turned in one of the most pathetic efforts of any team for the entire season? Yeah. And?

Was gonna mention that but, eh. Yeah, if you can get Love for Dante and Favors you do that in a heartbeat. Dante's production can be replaced and Love would be an amazing fit.

No, we're cool. Utah voted Trump so they're immune to grabbing the *****.

You could say this exact thing about Favors.

You could, but you would be wrong. Plus the fact that Favors can be waived up until July 5th if we find a better option. Plus only has 1 year left after that and is much less for that 1 year.

Who is this player as good as Favors that is less?

I listed a bunch of them. You didn’t like them as much, though.

Your arguments against Favs in those places are ***... you can’t just say they won’t go for him... why? Cuz it fits your idea. I could absolutely see the Celtics who just had two marquee free agents bolt pick up Favs for their center spot... they were rumored to want Capela... get favs for free on a one year deal is better. If the clips miss on the big boys they won’t go for long term salary on guys like Tobias... they will wait a year... so Favs makes a ton of sense.

The idea is delusional but sure I bet we are the only team that will offer the 12M and the front office is totally gonna risk losing him and being stuck with nothing but leftovers in the bargain bin and 17M in cap space.

They will waive him or keep him... I’d bet super large sums of money on it.

Is it possible to restructure and extend Conley at this juncture? Say we offer him 4 years 100 mill.

Hypothetically speaking of course.
