The Portis thing sounds like a Bartelstein (Portis's agent) ploy. Spread the word through reporters that there's a lot of interest, and hope a bidding war ensues. No way I'd become involved with that bidding war if I'm the Jazz. He's just not that good. Maybe someone to consider after the dust has settled if he comes cheaply.

I just found out that JJ Redick is available as a free agent! If we could pick him up....we're looking at 90-0 before we lose a game! A starting 5 of Donavan, Conley, Rudy, Favors and Redick would produce 35 points a QT, 70 a half and 140 a game!

I like Redick, but we need to use our money on other positions. With Donovan, Royce and even Exum as SG options, I think we need to focus more on PF, SF and backup C if we let Favors go.

Oh BTW in part 2 of the Dunc'd on mock off-season GSW traded Shaun Livingston and a 1st rounder for Jae Crowder with Memphis.

So if something like this happens, this would mean we traded the equivalent of 4 1st round picks for Conley.
