The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

See I could never wrap my head around the idea of voting for Clinton just to avoid Trump from being elected, as so pro-establishment as she appears to be.
But whatever rocks your boat.

Clinton was awful, but awful in the same way Obama was, or her husband. Both were somewhat better than Bush/McCain/Kerry, but I agree they are all part of the establishment (or Pro-War, ProBusiness Party, as I picked up from Mano Singham). I had little issue with Kerry winning over Obama, and felt fine voting for Stein.

Trump was just that much worse. I have seen zero rational argument otherwise.

Yeah, it's seriously like someone eating poop and seeming to love it. You're like why are you eating that, it's terrible. There's a hamburger right here that you could eat. And they're like the hamburger has onions on it and I don't like onions.

Why would I want him to be impeached when my life is great and the economy is great?

Because you love America more than you love yourself.

If you commit a crime and go to jail are you bringing your kids with you?

Will my kids be put into a separate jail?

Seeking asylum legally is definitely not a crime.

Seeking asylum illegally is. There is a difference.

Those seeking asylum legally are also being jailed.

I think jaywalking is a pretty minor offense. Should be illegal, but no one should be imprisoned for it.

Crossing the border illegally? It’s not ****ing rocket science it’s cut and dry.

It's legal to cross the border at a non-entry point, find the nearest official law enforcement official, and turn yourself in to claim asylum.

Now, how do you claim asylum illegally?

It's simple, really.

Should people seeking asylum get this as punishment? My job and family are doing just fine and that’s all that matters!

At a Border Patrol holding facility in El Paso, Texas, an agent told a Honduran family that one parent would be sent to Mexico while the other parent and their three children could stay in the United States, according to the family. The agent turned to the couple's youngest daughter — 3-year-old Sofia, whom they call Sofi — and asked her to make a choice.

"The agent asked her who she wanted to go with, mom or dad," her mother, Tania, told NPR through an interpreter.

Nailed it, that’s why I order my hamburgers with no onions.

What the heck? I'm not biased against Trump because of his demeanor. I'm anti Trump because of items like post 1 and post 3 of this thread.

Wasn't that the essence of your opinion on Trump when he got elected? I thought you said he is not presidential, is ill mannered, and not who you want representing the USA, and hope he gets impeached. You haven't been seeking justification toward that end this whole time?

I'm not going back to look up specific posts, so if that wasn't your stance from the onset then I could have gone at it from the wrong angle. But, big but, your OP "it's not the, it's..." reads exactly as someone who simply sees everything Trump as wrong and evil, needs impeachment. Many of the lines you are pushing are simply not level headed criticisms. "40 percent of the population... are profoundly immoral"? Trump is a traitor? "The American experiment will succeed or fail"? Even the unfit for office and incompetence bit... Trump has clearly done a great job at managing the various organizations under Executive control without much ballyhoo. There's way too many overblown, distended charges here to list them all. It's a melting pot of all MSNBC hyperbole.

People coming from a level headed stance don't generally throw things like "weaponization of politics" around. That's about as meaningless of a gripe (it is politics after all) as complaining about him giving a speech on the national holiday.

And here’s the funny thing about Trump. Being a great President involves being diplomatic and sensitive. The world is far more complex than it was 100 years ago. One can’t just puff their chest out now and bellow some broad rhetoric that the world will get. There are too many players. Heck, it’s far more complex than just 30 years ago. And really one must be a great chess player so to speak. It’s a complex job and one needs to think ahead all the time and how decisions and words will affect each and everybody.

Trump is playing checkers though. And badly. And he and his constituents can’t even see it. That or they just don’t give a damn, so long as it means sticking to their guns. Because there’s something admirable about being loyal to one’s beliefs. Even when they’re completely idiotic and immoral. Evidently.

Really? Does putting the checker pieces in your mouth and eating them really count as “playing” checkers?

Other than that, good post.

Trump represents a threat to social liberalism. That's always been the issue, since before he took office. Trump is pushing back the liberal agenda that stands for same-sex marriage, socialized healthcare, federal funding for abortions, liberal judges on the SC, open borders and social welfare programs for immigrants whose livelihood will then depend on voting for Democrats, etc., etc. And I've yet to meet even one self-proclaimed modern feminist who likes Trump.

There's something of a culture war going on between a social-progressive and a more traditional-conservative view of the country. Both sides seem to believe they have morality on their side.

Liberals have always hated Trump and will continue to hate Trump. And it's not just Trump. It's the attorney general, it's Brett Kavanaugh, it's Kellyanne Conway, it's Lindsay Graham, etc. They'll generate faux outrage and spew vitriol at anyone who interferes with the liberal agenda. It's the same thing that's been going on for 2 1/2 years.
I disagree.
I hate Trump because he is worthless, petty, childish moron who is embarrassing to have as president.
I don't give a **** if he is a republican or Democrat or liberal or conservative and I don't care about any of his policies or actions as president.
As long as he acts like an egotistical douchebag I will hate having him as president.

It he were to stop being such a piece of **** human being then I would stop hating him. That goes for everyone. Not just the president or Trump
Like if my neighbor is a petty, moronic, egotistical, douchebag then I wouldn't like him or her either. Wouldn't matter what their politics were like.
