What's new

So this is the 20 year anniversary of Jazzfanz

When you first started posting, I read every post through the lens of thinking this guy was posting:

I’ll admit, it certainly colored the way I perceived your posts. That’s not what I see now, but it’s what I saw then. Same with Cy’s old DWillpwnasaurusrex avatar.
It's funny how avatars do that. It's hard not to visualize who you're talking to unless you've met or seen them.

Spot on, pretty much. Only I'm not that buff.

I never read an entire post of Aint's. I'd make it a few sentences in and I couldn't understand what he was saying (literally.) The only other poster who I have a hard time reading and comprehending is babes'.
Pretty sure I never read a full post, either. I forget some of the linguistic aint-isms, but they were annoying.

That's right, Hopper. Well, whoever, was writing that dialect did a good job, unless he really was a dude from the hood, or at least brought up there. It's not that easy to do. I doubt that Aint and Hopper were different posters.
He DID NOT do a good job... at anything.

Maybe you're fooled by a cheap imitation of someone using a "black dialect" because you've never known any black people?

Yeah, I lived with a black woman for seven years who grew up in the hood, and was on intimate terms with her entire, large family and black friends, and still am. It's not easy to do dialect either. I thought he did a good job, considering it was consistent throughout. Maybe I'm just dumb, but considering I have a grad degree in Creative Writing, I think my opinion is worth something.

I stand corrected. Ain't did a really good stereotypical "impression" of a black person. I had no idea you lived with a black person who also grew up in the hood and that you got intimate with her extended family and still do.

I will defer to your expertise on issues regarding black people from now on.

It was an impression because it was created by a white guy named ONE BROW.

One Brow is a college professor at a small college in Illinois. I think he did a good job with Aint. It was his little secret so he just doesn't want to admit to it.
Despite you having posted all your evidence not a single person here thinks Ain't was One Brow's alt but you.

No one!
