Kavanaugh Back in the News

The NYT has reported that one of the women who had accused current SC Justice Kavanaugh of sexual assault had corroboration for her account of his behavior at Yale, and that individual contacted the FBI, but they never investigated the claim.

It's really cool that the vetting process for a lifetime appointment to one of the most powerful positions in this country is a total ****ing joke.

Awful. Just awful. I’m old enough to remember how the senate moved to quickly confirm instead of letting the investigations take place so they could #ownthelibs. They dumped 40,000 pages that Democrats requested the night before the confirmation. They were so focused on sticking it to one side and not allow another Bork that the senate put somebody on the court who has no business being on the court. Two of nine of the justices now have been credibly accused of sexual harassment (Thomas and Kav).

And these are for lifetime appointments! This is yet another example of how the American system is broken. We need to come up with a more comprehensive vetting system and place term limits on justices. Why didn’t the FBI investigate this more thoroughly?

right now the Judicial branch is merely another arm of republicans/corporations hoping to accomplish what they can’t through legislation. McConnell knows this and that’s why he’s packing the courts as fast as possible. That way, when they lose power through elections, they can still maintain it through the courts.

Also, “liable.”

Wait, so the same FBI that was trying to destroy Trump was also helping Trump?

This is a strange turn of events.

You post stuff like that as if its significant and some bombshell.

When in reality its just another day twitter for the dems.

You were warned that crying wolf would make people numb to news about Trump. At this point, no one cares. We know the agenda. We know Dems will say anything. So we have no idea whats the truth.

Sorry, just more made up BS by the Dems as far as America is concerned.

Why do you think I believe the FBI is trying to do either of those things?

Also iirc the FBI was constrained in what it could pursue by the White House.

The FBI and DOJ fall under the executive umbrella. Kavanaugh works in the judicial branch. The president today instructed those institutions to rescue the judicial branch. Separation of powers means nothing to authoritarians, like Trump.

We see daily how trump’s authoritarian nature is corrupting our institutions. The DOJ is prosecuting McCabe while the NOAA denies scientific forecasts in favor of Trump’s sharpie. Every day we see our institutions caving to Trump.

Late Sunday, The New York Times walked back an explosive report about a resurfaced allegation of sexual assault by Kavanaugh from his college days. The piece by Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly was adapted from their forthcoming book, "The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation," and alleged that there was corroboration of an incident in which Kavanaugh, as a college student at Yale, exposed himself to a female classmate at a party.

The paper was forced to issue an update that included the significant detail that several friends of the alleged victim said she did not recall the purported sexual assault. The newspaper also stated for the first time that the alleged victim refused to be interviewed, and has made no other comment about the episode.

Also, they left out the part of the "book" where the witness that Ford put up as confirming her account thinks that the incident never happened at all. Even though that person was against the appointment of Kavanaugh. Seems like a bigger story than what the Times ran with. But muh JOURNALISM. . . .

Seriously though. How many times can one be fooled by what the media is doing?

@Zombie and Thriller awfully quiet about this now.

Its just the same thing over and over. Run with a BS unsubstantiated story and later under your breathe retract.

I cannot wrap my mind around how these lefties pretend to have the moral high ground, yet are ok with the constant lies and manipulation. It would be one thing if it was rare mistakes, but this is a regular weekly and sometimes daily occurrence. Its just so blatant too. Disgusting.

So basically all you got is the Trump misspelled a word. You should be outraged.

Here is the natural progression of every liberal outrage news story.

1. Outrage by the libs
2. Arguing about feelings and not facts
3. Libs cry and put you on ignore
4. Story turns out to be false
5. Crickets from the libs

And then on to the next unsubstantiated story. As if we havent been through this 100's of times.

Wash rinse repeat

The stories about Kavanaugh are substantiated, and seem to be fairly true. What are you smoking?

This is actually fair yet also accurate in many ways of the other side as well. @Thriller
You can’t railroad against every R or conservative under the sun and then run and hide after you’ve lambasted one who had libelous **** written about him. Just saying. Trump sucks. Kavanaugh just feels like a pos too. But how we feel about him and the little we know of him can’t cloud our judgment that should be based on facts and facts alone.

What parts?

The latest Times reports about his revealing his genitalia to others while in college. The only "retraction" was that they forgot to add one of the accusers was too drunk to recall the incident directly, and only learned about it afterwards.

No specifics?

So absolutely nothing but hearsay with absolutely no evidence? If that makes you believe and want to portray guilt of sexual assault on someone than I really don't know. That's an insanely dangerous precedent you're setting. Basically every single person ever is guilty before any trial.

I don't know if he's guilty or not but as I said this is absolutely insane how people are so quick to scream guilty. There's 100% an ulterior motive here. Is Antonio Bryant guilty? Is Clinton guilty? Again extremely dangerous

Sigh

So what do you want me to say? Help me help you. I’m attacked for posting and then attacked for leaving a thread alone. I can’t please anyone on this site!

You want me to refute something that doesn’t need to be refuted? The latest accusations against him haven’t been retracted, right? Soooooo what do you want me to backtrack? What libel has been written about kavanaugh? I don’t understand.
