Vaping Illnesses

The original call has been to ban all vaping products. Some states have started with the flavored products. Since it is the illegal street stuff that is causing the problem, this won't affect the illness and death rates. But it will cause smoking tobacco rates to rise.

Vaping THC laced illegal products are what are negatively affecting users in a relatively short amount of time. Not the legal stuff.
My wife vaps now, to which I am eternally grateful. When she filled up the bedroom with cigarette smoke, it made sleeping damn near impossible; I have literally gathered up my pillow and a blanket and gone downstairs to sleep on a uncomfortable couch (which is a form of torture in-and-of itself).

I was an environmental engineer for over 30 years and read a lot toxicological studies and research during that time -- thus leading me to conclude that "environmental science" is an oxymoron. Did you know that "one-in-a-million risk" is not a statistical term at all, but is a definition: 'if you assume a safety factor of 10 for unaccounted errors in the rat study, then assume another factor of 10 for extrapolating the rat study to humans, then throw in another factor of 10 for the variability for human sensitivities, then throw in another factor of 10 for children, then assume another factor of 10 because humans live 80 years to a rats 2, then throw in another safety...'

No lie, "one-in-a-million risk" was chosen, not because it was protective of human health, but because it "sounded cool." I spent a lot of time and (the company's) money modeling to show that emission "X" did not pose a greater than one-in-a-million risk at the property boundary. But what the hell, it gave me a good living.

Having said that, I will say that I learned a thing or two working in the field. Now I'm not given into the "dioxin is the most hazardous substance know to man" hyperbole, but I strongly suspect that when you add THC oil (or any oil) to your vap juice, the combustor is going to generate some dioxins and furans, along with other nasties, when it burns the oil. It isn't any wonder to me that some people are more sensitive to these chemicals than the average person.

Um. That was tenth of a second. You're an English teacher right?

Seriously though a lot of people don't know that you generally use 2080 as the regular full time hours in a year to convert an hourly rate to an annual one.

I do now. Haha!

Wait, are single dudes paying $1300 for rent? I must be pretty darned blessed!
If you live in the Salt Lake Valley and want a decent apartment, yes.

Now If I'm a single man, I'm not going to live in a **** hole, but I'll take a nice place in a ****** part of town for cheap all day every day. I bet I could find $700 a month for something I liked a lot. Maybe $900 something for a 2 bedroom so I could have my stuff.

I got a 4 bedroom in NW Tucson for a $1100 mortgage. Just got really, really lucky with my timing. I can likely never move.

We have a 2752 sq ft house near downtown Belleville for $1200/month. It's 140 years old or so, but very charming.

Average rent for an apartment in Salt Lake is $1239. Average size apartment is 828 sq ft.

Pay 1700 rent in Redlands CA, 1450 sq ft house. Works for us. Very low rent for this area, most houses here similar are renting for 2200 and up.

Okay kids, say it with me, "STOP, DROP and ROLL." Guess they need to put that as a Surgeon's General warning on the side of vapes. Pretty much every one of these people just run around with their pants on fire.

In the last year two guys have died from their vape pens exploding in their face. A dude from Florida, and it burnt 80% of his body, and a dude from Texas - his vape pen severed his carotid artery.

Lots of these vape pen explosion cause severe burning to the genetials.

Yeah, no thanks for me.

It's all part of the fun.

The Oregon governor put a ban on any flavors other than tobacco. Which is frankly going to just push me back to regular cigarettes.

I figure that it might be possible to sell the juice without flavors and then sell a little flavor additive that can be mixed in?

Maybe, but probably not. But it looks like the order has been blocked by a judge, so I ought to go stock up.

I think that may be the long term solution, even if you have to get the flavor additive online.

My wife stayed vaping a few years ago at my urging and I hope this hysteria doesn't **** that up.
