Exum assigned to the Stars

In place of who though? He isn't taking niangs power forward minutes

Why not? With his size and quickness, he can cover most anybody on the court save for the bigger centers. Course we don't want him getting banged around on the interior, but in this age of stretch fours that's not so much an issue, particularly in short minutes. Niang's a better three point shooter, but I believe most defensive assignments would favor Exum.
Personally, I think that his playing time should be wholly contingent on who we're playing against. Against score first point guards like Harden, Paul and Walker, I think Ex is the best option over Mudiay. I know this kid has been totally snake-bit with injuries, but I think a lot of folks are sleeping on his athleticism. I don't think anybody on this team has a quicker first step, and nobody puts up better highlights save for Mitchell.
Bottom line for me is that I'm just happy to have him back as a situational option. I wouldn't want to rush him into too many minutes to begin with. But when somebody goes down or come playoff time we're going to need him IMO.

Are you kidding? This organization has an obsession with sunk costs and saving-face about Exum to the point of abject denial of reality. Never underestimate it.
They’ve built an absolutely legitimate title contending team, though, right?

Imagine sticking with a young, athletic wing who has shown the ability to defend very well vs 1-3, and the ability to spot defend smaller 4's. Imagine sticking with that when there's a premium on wing defense in the league right now.

At the very least, that's who Exum is, when healthy. It's worth the risk. Will it pan out? Don't know! But I think it's easily worth the risk.

It was certainly worth the risk when he signed that contract. Has it worked out well from then to now? No. Should we all be able to live happy lives despite this? Yes.

All I’m asking for is a reason to be so excited. The facts about Exum as an actual basketball player in the NBA don’t jive with the hype. It’s more disconnected than about any example I can think of, ever.

But that first step(or second)! And Harden! And 13 AST!

(Knuckles turning white grasping so hard)

Exum will have made $49,000,000 by the end of next season from the Jazz. Holy Schnikes!

K, it’s not normal for any 6th year NBA player to play in the G-League for any reason. It’s not. It says everything about where he’s at physically, mentally, and skills-wise.

I hid a clue as to what the reason is above.

He is not playing, is he? Practising with G-League has been a part of rehabs for years. Burks has done it. Willie Cauley Stein was sent to G-League few days ago for his rehab but never played.
