Look at you sounding all reasonable and stuff. Keep it up!
Your daily reminder that confessional Republicans are by and large awful human beings.
Wow, I didn't know Mike Lee had it in him.
My favorite part of his argument is probably where he invokes their attacks on Saudi Arabia as a justification for us ramping things up against them. As if us getting more involved is somehow going to make things better, or that it's any of our business in the first place.
Coward
Is the hypocritical evangelical leaders’ vision of God’s mission to end any threat to their values any different from their enemy’s?"Discretion is the better part of valor" might have applied here. This was never about some Americans are cowards and some Americans are warriors. It's about what the hell is the end game where the Trump administration is concerned? For Pompeo, for former administration guys like Bolton and Bannon, it's always been about regime change in Iran. But I thought Trump ran against that philosophy? In his address yesterday, Trump referred to the "regime in Iran" a couple of times. (JMPO, but I think we should get any evengelicals the heck away from our Middle East policy. I don't trust them to separate America's foreign policy from their anticipation of The Rapture. Their entitled to their personal beliefs, as long as it does not enter into the real world and our decisions regarding Iran).
But, aside from all that, which is really just a personal opinion, exactly what is the end game here? It is not asking too much for the American people to understand that. I think Trump wants Iran back at the bargaining table. Well, we'll see if Trump's "game plan"(?) works to that end.
I know this. Prior to Trump leaving the Iran nuclear deal, Iran was not lobbing missiles at our troops. And if citizens do not want to march lock step with Trump, it is their right to do so, without being called cowards.
And then there's this.
