haven't read the thread, don't know anything either.
Conservative "Old Asia Hand" Gordon Chang says China is under-reporting, about 10% of actual, and that Xi is "missing in action", and that the concentration camps are fully involved. If you could believe that...… I mean..... who knows. Who would ever expect the Chinese to fully report anything.
And there's questions about the origins, as early cases really didn't involve the "wet markets". AKA a research lab origin.
I don't believe even China would deliberately create and release a deadly disease that would in fact cripple their economy and trade, but human stupidity isn't limited to the Britiswh Peerage, in my estimation.
Already there are economic impacts from plants closed in outbreak areas and no parts for assemblage offshore on the way to assembly plants around the world, affecting automotive production and computer components......
Trump will need to go find Xi and work out some way to help solve this crisis if he wants the Stock Market to keep rising.

The Chinese communist party is trying to save face, protect the economy, and maintain their power and credibility as a priority over documenting and reporting the epidemic accurately. People who are put into the quarantine centers are basically being left to die. Medical equipment and supplies are inadequate to treat patients.
Crematoriums in Whuan have been operating around the clock to burn bodies, and the numbers could be in the several hundreds per day.

The death toll has now reached 910. On Sunday 97 people died. That's probably the most in one day but I seriously doubt it.

They are now building these in Shanghai. It looks like isolation boxes. Maybe preparing for the millions of people going back to work.

108 deaths a day later and now it's at 1,016 dead. I'm thinking they decided not to add the two extra digits.
Edit: There is a video circulating in the web of a Wuhan woman falling to her death as she tried to escape her apartment because the apartment building was quarantined. Her door got welded shut. Not sure why, maybe by regular people or the government. I don't know. She can't get out and ran out of food. So her only option was to climb out but fell instead. Quite sad.

They changed the way they are counting thats why the cases jumped up today. Its anyone diagnosed with it not just people admitted to the hospital.
But new data from outside China shows that 80% of people with this new cornavirus only show minor cold symptoms. Thats good news in some regards but probably means the infected rate is way higher. Only 3-5% actually get severe symptoms and need to be hospitalized and most of those will survive with proper medical care.

Diagnosed with pneumonia from CT scans.
According to the staffer from the crematorium, 60% of the deaths in Wuhan are from people who are self-quarantined at home. These are people who did not receive hospital treatment at all and may not have been diagnosed with the disease. They are likely not included in the official count of cases or deaths. These were people who were told to go home to die.
Based on this alone, you can more than double the official case and fatality numbers.
