2020 Presidential election

Yiiiiiikes.

She needed to get caught up on a couple factoids and she would have killed that interview, which would have made that interview completely irrelevant.

It is sad that she doesn't know the name of the Mexican President. I'll admit that after Vicente Fox left I didn't know either. I don't know what the current Mexican President's policies are. What he stands for. I don't really know. Would be better if I did, would be even better if Klobuchar did.

I think it's pretty defensible for any of us not to be aware of who the president of Mexico is, much less so for a presidential candidate. You'd think the leaders of countries on our border would be at the top of the list. What makes it even worse is this interview was for Telemundo- pretty wild that she didn't anticipate an obvious question about Obrador would come up.

She should have admitted up front that she knew very little about the current Mexican president, and then agreed that she should know more and will rectify that situation right away. She could have then gone on to tell about the things she has done with the previous Mexican administration.

There's no shame in admitting you don't know everything, but make it clear that you are willing to learn instead of fumbling through and looking foolish.

I thought Bloomberg qualified when the DNC dropped the donor requirement, but maybe he needs more support in polls.
Bloomberg has just now qualified for the debate to take place tomorrow in Las Vegas. He hit 19 percent in a national poll released this morning, by far his highest level of support to date and second only to Sanders. He needed 10 percent to qualify. His campaign has said he will attend the debate.

Bloomberg is by far my least favorite candidate with any chance to win the nomination. His increasing popularity shows that you can buy your way into contention. (Bloomberg has spent $400 million so far and has indicated he is willing to spend more than a billion dollars to win the nomination.) Hopefully, this new level of support will bring increased scrutiny to a really troublesome personal and political record.

Agreed.

I'm not voting if Bloomberg wins. Democracy is officially over at that point

I feel the same way, although Bloomberg getting the nomination might be enough to get Bernie to make an independent run. In which case the general election will be an absolute bloodbath.

Not me. I'll happily vote for Bloomberg if he gets the nomination. I'd vote for a bag of **** if the other choice was Trump.
I get this mindset to a point, but Bloomberg has the all the same flaws as Trump, he just hides them better.

I don't think he has ALL the same flaws. I think he would be a much more competent administrator of the executive branch. I think he would make much more rational decisions as the commander-in-chief. I think he will communicate somewhat more intelligently, even though he says stupid **** at times. I think he will build better relationships with our allies rather than tearing them down.

I could honestly keep going, but this isn't a "well they both suck the same" situation. None of the potential Democratic candidates, nor any of the other Republicans challenging Trump, are as bad as Trump. If the choice was Trump or Pence I'd vote for Pence. If the choice was Trump or Barr I'd vote for Barr.

Trump is incompetent and that puts every last one of us at risk. We feel safe because we're the U.S.A. and nothing can hurt us, but that's an illusion. Trump's incompetence puts all of us at risk. And we can't allow him 4 more years to institutionalize his bad practices.

He shares Trump's authoritarian tendencies and his racism, both things are much more dangerous when wielded by someone with competence. He's a warmonger who still believes the war in Iraq was justified, and gave many a speech in support of it.

From stop and frisk to creating a surveillance state for Muslims in New York to illegally detaining protestors he's repeatedly shown he's a danger to freedom in this country.

More than anything though his nomination would mean that democracy in this country is truly dead or at the very least dying. Are we really willing to hand the presidency over to an oligarch who simply paid his way into office?

If Trump and Bloomberg are our choices I'm out. **** that.

Frankly, I think Trump would beat either Bernie or Bloomberg in the general election by a wide margin.
I wouldn’t be so sure about him beating Bernie. Bernie’s momentum would just get stronger by the day until election day.

Frankly, I think Bernie is the guy he’s most afraid of. Trump is all about personal attacks, there’s no dirt on Bernie as far as I’m concerned.

I don't know how to put into words how against a Bloomberg nomination I am.

I'm against almost everything Trump stands for as a politician, but at least with him I can still feel okay about the democratic process in our country. I disagree with his supporters, but they are real and genuine.

Yeahh, you're an established moron when it comes to politics. There is practically no difference between the two. Bloomberg might be worse.

This is high comedy.
