Didn't really wanna make my own thread so I'm gonna hijack this one.
I'm scheduled for my second clavicle surgery in 3 weeks at 2:30 today. I guess, this is the time to do it... again.
My first one went OK. It was late afternoon and the surgery was over just after 6. I'm a champ with anesthesia and I'm awake and coherent as soon as I open my eyes. I'm ready to go in five minutes, but they make you stay for an hour.
After my last surgery, the doctor left and forgot to write me any pain medication. The hospital told me to call his office in the morning. In other words, it took nearly 24 hours to get a damn pain pill and I went to work the next day (we had a huge convention in SLC right before all the lockdowns.)
The doc only wrote me 20 pain pills - the fives. He said to take one every 4 hours. I'm a big guy and know my pain level, I also have a high tolerance to pain pills - only use them when I have then prescribed to me and never had a problem abusing them fortunately. I had to take two every 4 hours to get barely any relief. Doctor's don't get this. They write the same script for 110 lbs people.
Anyway, pain after surgery was a bitch. I called for more pills when the 20 ran out and they said no (I broke my wrist too, btw.) They basically make you feel like a drug addict because, I'm sure, they have many patients who are.
The last three weeks have been rough in terms of pain. When I had the dressing removed last Wednesday I told his PA how bad it still hurt (didn't ask for more meds) and asked if my collarbone looked fine. He said everything looked great.
After going home, I saw my collarbone looked like it was popping out. I ended up calling on Friday and demanded an X-Ray. I got the X-Ray yesterday and the doc comes in and asks if I was in another accident or if I fell. I said no. He told me I popped the plate off the bone some how and he's never seen that before. He asked if I was in pain and I said, everyday has felt like the day after surgery.
He told me I needed " emergency" surgery today. They're gonna take out the old plate and put a new one in.
The ****ing doctors I get, man. Gawd damn it. Even the doc at the ER told me I didn't break my collarbone after they X-Rayed me (I shattered it.) I had to demand another X-Ray then too.
Don't even get me started on my back and hip doctors, gawd damn it.
Does anyone else have really bad experiences with doctors too?

This is my X-Ray from yesterday. I guarantee the plate popped during the first night home from surgery.

This is the break the ER doc and radiologist said I didn't break. Lol They told me I didn't break my wrist too. WTF
Btw, the ER doc sent me home with 8 pain pills on a Saturday afternoon. They were gone the next morning and the days leading up to surgery sucked.
I get the whole be cautious prescribing pain pills. I really do.
I don't when someone is in major ****ing pain. I shouldn't have to suffer because of pill poppers.
