What's new

How long have you been here?

I think I started browsing this site when I was bored shiftless at my job in 2005. I think I started getting engaged around the time the Jazz drafted Morris Almond and I wanted them to draft Tiago Splitter in 2007. I went full OCD when I wanted the Jazz to draft Paul George over Gordon Hayward in 2010.

Was it called Jazzfanz back then, or was it called something else, like JazzHoops or something?

JazzHoops was another forum. I remember when Splitter was originally slated to be a lotto pick a few years before he came out. PG > Hayward was what I wanted. Kawhi > Burks, too. That’s okay, though, as I also wanted Burke over everyone.

Anyone want to point out that the Jazz, after this latest round of rebuild, still seems to top out at around 51 wins, gets the 4th or 5th seed in the west and normally gets taken out by the 2nd round? This year will be 4 years in a row.

It seems like we've hit the same ceiling as the DWill / Boozer teams. It's going to take having a 3rd All Star to break through to the WCF and potentially the Finals.

That sounds about right. I remember getting used to the site, and then having to adjust to a reality where 2 out of every 3 posts was suddenly by PKM and DWillPwnasaurus.
Those draft arguments are permanently etched in my mind. Not the substance, just the presence.

At least they both seem to feel ashamed about it at this point. I’m glad I stuck around to see that chapter play out.
Well, when the hindsight reveals a debate about two guys that nobody is concerned about now... at all... it should do that. Little did we know a two-time finals MVP was drafted after both of them.
