Tough Day To Be In Law Enforcement

Well, I would say 99% of the people out there are out there for Floyd, and the 1% are out there distracting everyone from the issue (a justice system that has failed the Black people of our country). If we could address what the 99% are protesting (to me the big issues to start with are ending the war on drugs and holding police more accountable with community reviews) then the 1% would have no cover.

This could very well be the case. I'm specifically talking about the extreme side of things. I think people protesting are there for Floyd. I think many of the looters are opportunists. @NAOS thinks they're burning down the corner Mexican restaurant and stealing from Sally's sister's store in memory of Floyd. I just think those ones are POS. Simple.

Ahem:

“Law enforcement officials in Minnesota believe there are white supremacists attending demonstrations in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, said Department of Corrections Commissioner Paul Schnell on Sunday night.

"They're agitators," he said, adding that authorities are trying to break up groups so "agitators" don't gather and incite chaos.”

My take: opportunistic people come in all shades. Some steal, some burn, some fight. They all are scummy and should be sent to an island for some Lord of the Flies action.

It's sad to think this is where we are in society in 2020.

That video left out a little bit of context.

Apparently she had a knife and was trying to stab people with it. Curiously not the white woman who leaves the scene at the beginning of the video.

Wasn't she trying to stop people from looting her store?

Everything about that video is bizarre. So many wtfs.

If she was trying to stop looters that used to be called heroism or being a vigilante. Today, apparently, it's racist.

Yes. But attacking, or burning random people's businesses down or looting them is something so ****ing moronic and not justified. Do you think that piece of **** behavior is justified?
Yes, I can think of circumstances where that is justified. Boston tea party for example. There have been lots of justified looting in the history of the world. There have been justified burning of businesses in the history of the world.

Maybe you think this is not one of those times its justified. That is your opinion, I am still listening and am not sure. There are lots of good points being made by people. I certainly know that if I felt like for generations I was not given the same basic human rights as others around me that I would be very angry. If I had a family member or friend being murdered by police who are supposed to serve and protect and the system was allowing that and supporting the police that did that I would be very upset.

Nowhere have I said that you ****ing clown. I’m not making any conclusions right now because I’m at home. Like you. So I’m keeping my mouth shut.

What if she was only stabbing black people looting and letting the white people looting walk right by? That is what people there and stopped her are claiming.

It’s unfortunate that this is what he is apparently put into this position to speak on this when it’s really not his obligation. And in no small part thanks to the “white helpers.” The little drummer boy, having no gift to bring for the king, played his drum. Likewise these white helpers don’t have any particular skill or talent to bring, but want to bring a righteous offering from their heart. So they bring their angst and violence.

I understand the victims and the oppressed going after the corrupt and the oppressors - that I do understand.

Going after the innocent because of something someone else did is a ********, simple way of thinking. It's not helping make your point and is hurting someone else's life who very well could be fighting for the same thing you are.

You're arming people with the idea that rioting, looting anyone and any business is ok because of racist police and a corrupt system. Go after them. Leave the innocent alone.

I just don't get the virtual signaling that encourages this behavior.

Maybe there was some other reason why she let that white woman through unbothered and started swinging a knife at the black folks, idk.

But beyond that it's not heroic to try to stab people looting a Target. Just let that **** go, Target will be fine.

I’ve watched this a lot. I got emotional reading your post about watching it. I am also a huge baby, obviously.

I suppose on a somewhat related note: my family has a weekly Zoom call. My family is traditionally conservative (although sensible) Mormon and lives in Syracuse, all factors that I think are relevant. One of my sisters expressed her shock at the scale of racism in America and wanted to have a discussion about it. The long story short is that we had a conversation about privilege and recognizing unconscious bias that I never thought we’d have and I cried so much telling them how proud I am to have them for my family. It was an unreasonable amount of crying and now I feel like a crazy person because I probably am.
Damn
I want that

You can see in the video she turned after the white person but was too slow cause she was in a wheel chair.

Stop making the looters look like the victim. Am I missing something? Lol

I wonder if part of the problem is roid rage? Some of these cops appear to be unnaturally jacked and unable to control their emotions. A cop using roids probably shouldn’t be employed.
