I used to go pheasant hunting a lot out in that area. I've driven by that place a hundred times.

I drove to Topaz Mountain last year and stopped there on the way down.

Not totally related but my family and I went on a cruise and ended up in Mammoth, the place where the skinhead killed those 2 teens like 2 years ago and threw them down the mine shaft. Felt evil AF and was honestly scarier than anyplace I've ever been. Not until we got home and was googling things we realized what happened there. We weren't surprised.

I hadn't even heard that story about the murders.
A motovlog I made last year where I stop there for a pic.
I'd be a bit slow to just believe a witness like Lewis, wondering if she didn't gleefully help do the crime. Really messed up. And why would she be either taken along or not killed too. The houses in "Mammoth" look like abandoned wrecks in the first place, maybe rent for $200 a month. The only person I've known who lived in a place like that was, he said, an ex-con who had smuggled drugs across the Gulf of Mexico for some organized outfit. He told me people like him.... little guys helping out.... are systematically turned over every year or so... meaning the drug organization kills them on a sort of schedule to reduce risk of anyone knowing too much. He got away. I had him work for me for a summer because he could fix tractors and junk. I figured I couldn't be sure whether he felt safer in jail or in an abandoned shack in the rabbit brush nobody even could know was there. I know he made some caches in the tall sage where he kept his guns, just so if his shack ever got searched by authorities he wouldn't face a weapons charge. Point being, he was hiding out from his former employers more than the cops.
I told him a story about a judge I knew who was as corrupt as hell, and I really shouldn't have been surprised when he offered to "hurt" him for me.
Looks to me like that's the kind of society the perv and his accessory ran with.
It might be a nice area for pheasant hunters but it doesn't so nice for the pheasants.nice areas for pheasants all around, I imagine. I'd guess more so towards Goshen than going up the hill to the west. It's near an arm of Utah Lake that has lots of marshy ground.

As someone who spent a lot of hours on Google Earth looking at places I thought could be the spot for his treasure, I wish Fenn would at least tell about the location. I understand the finder wanting privacy so they're not hit up by friends or family or have to grab the ankle from the government but dang, it would be nice to hear about them.
Is there a Jazzfanz sports memorabilia thread where posters can post things for sale or buy memorabilia?

Recently, when I drove past this landmark, there were a lot of people there, and the front door was open. I see they have a picnic table under a tree in the back, in a small lawn area...... and a parking lot south of that. Lots of bikers stop there, and at the old unused gas station/minimart across the highway on the north.
This is Utah's new "This is the Place" icon.
