I drove to Topaz Mountain last year and stopped there on the way down.

Not totally related but my family and I went on a cruise and ended up in Mammoth, the place where the skinhead killed those 2 teens like 2 years ago and threw them down the mine shaft. Felt evil AF and was honestly scarier than anyplace I've ever been. Not until we got home and was googling things we realized what happened there. We weren't surprised.

I talk about that in that YouTube video I just posted.

I used to go pheasant hunting a lot out in that area. I've driven by that place a hundred times.

nice areas for pheasants all around, I imagine. I'd guess more so towards Goshen than going up the hill to the west. It's near an arm of Utah Lake that has lots of marshy ground.

I hadn't even heard that story about the murders.

A motovlog I made last year where I stop there for a pic.

Looks like you went past the most used area near the south point of Topaz Mountain, on the east side. Your video drew up a dude shooting a site on the west side of Topaz Mountain near a fee digging claim where he showed lots of topaz, even some slightly red topaz. I went rock hounding in that exact place one day, but I don't like to climb so much, and down near the road it was pretty disappointing. I found a place on the north end of Topaz mountain near the geode beds with some little clear gems.

I'd be a bit slow to just believe a witness like Lewis, wondering if she didn't gleefully help do the crime. Really messed up. And why would she be either taken along or not killed too. The houses in "Mammoth" look like abandoned wrecks in the first place, maybe rent for $200 a month. The only person I've known who lived in a place like that was, he said, an ex-con who had smuggled drugs across the Gulf of Mexico for some organized outfit. He told me people like him.... little guys helping out.... are systematically turned over every year or so... meaning the drug organization kills them on a sort of schedule to reduce risk of anyone knowing too much. He got away. I had him work for me for a summer because he could fix tractors and junk. I figured I couldn't be sure whether he felt safer in jail or in an abandoned shack in the rabbit brush nobody even could know was there. I know he made some caches in the tall sage where he kept his guns, just so if his shack ever got searched by authorities he wouldn't face a weapons charge. Point being, he was hiding out from his former employers more than the cops.

I told him a story about a judge I knew who was as corrupt as hell, and I really shouldn't have been surprised when he offered to "hurt" him for me.

Looks to me like that's the kind of society the perv and his accessory ran with.

Yeah, there is a just a dark cloud over mammoth. Just feels evil. I actually know the prosecutor for his case and they have a **** ton of physical evidence, plus phone calls, texts, etc .... he did it 100%. The chick should go to prison too though, for not telling anyone for months, and for likely being involved more than she is letting on. Either way, the dude isn's seeing the light of day ever again. He's talked about this not being his 1st, or 2nd, or 3rd murders either. He's not a bright guy.

Sidenote, the big creepy house at the very top of Mammoth has to be occupied by a large meth outfit or something. So creepy.

It might be a nice area for pheasant hunters but it doesn't so nice for the pheasants.

My daughter is, I think, the bird girl of Alcatraz. I'm sure I know nothing about Alcatraz. I just asked my daughter about where it was, and she gave the coordinates of my ranch. I was being imaginative, of course, maybe even unhinged. But my basic response here is that she is the sort of person who might have a bird on her arm. In fact, some neighbors where she lives found a dove with a broken wing in the debris of a tree that they had trimmed.......

My daughter took the dove, and nursed it to health. She built a large bird cage in our yard when Mom rebelled at all the bird poop on the sofa, and I re-submitted some pooped up coats I'd left hanging on my chair.

Nowadays, she lets the bird fly around free. Some dumb male dove has chosen to live in our yard, sitting on her bird cage all day. Her dove flies around a while then comes and lands on her arm.

I myself have never shot a pheasant, or even tried. When I see them on the roadside, I swerve away a bit if I can. I do that for eagles too, and owls, at night when they don't get clear enough of my damn truck.

As someone who spent a lot of hours on Google Earth looking at places I thought could be the spot for his treasure, I wish Fenn would at least tell about the location. I understand the finder wanting privacy so they're not hit up by friends or family or have to grab the ankle from the government but dang, it would be nice to hear about them.

So, please just understand. If it was on government ground, the government is going to claim it all. And if it was not on government ground, the IRS is going to claim 37% of it.

Damn the government.

It's a mistake to even post a pic of it, because damn sure the government now has tax-supported investigators out looking for any piece of it that might turn up at a pawn shop or be sold to anyone who will post a pic of it.

Government wastes everything.

I drove to Topaz Mountain last year and stopped there on the way down.

Recently, when I drove past this landmark, there were a lot of people there, and the front door was open. I see they have a picnic table under a tree in the back, in a small lawn area...... and a parking lot south of that. Lots of bikers stop there, and at the old unused gas station/minimart across the highway on the north.

This is Utah's new "This is the Place" icon.

My wife says we should go there and get ourselves pics.
